The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) National Council elected Dr. Robert M. Gates, former Secretary of Defense and former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), as the organization's national president. Dr. Gates spoke to the Scouting family during the organization's National Annual Meeting.

Stephenson is expected to be selected as the next BSA president in 2014. Both Ernst & Young and AT&T had been commended by homosexual-rights groups for homosexual-friendly employment policies. In response, AT&T issued a statement on Stephenson's behalf, indicating that he too might be interested in working internally to reconsider the exclusive membership policy. Both Ernst & Young and AT&T are corporate members of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. AT&T’s corporate HQ is in Dallas, TX, not far from BSA’s national office in Irving, TX. AT&T has scored a 100% perfect score on the HRUman Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index for 7 straight years since 2004.

And this is why I resigned my position as an Assistant Scout Master as it created an untenable position between me being a Deacon in my Church and a scout leader. I could not advocate for both acceptance of homosexuality as a scout leader and teach against the perversion as a Christian.
I know Gates is a complete douche because he uses only capital letters.
After reading his speech posted here the HuffPo is correct that he wants homosexuals as scout leaders, but he realizes that a hard, public push to make that happen would bring about its split and collapse very quickly.
And if I am reading in between his lines about the BSA “moving forward” (Leftists love the word, ‘forward’ when in reality it is backward) he’s still going to push for albeit in a much more subtle and subversive manner.
Gates is aiming for NAMBLA president.
This has always been about money. The Boy Scouts have an expensive headquarters and bureaucracy to fund. They depend on corporate and foundation funding to operate. Make no mistake. Homosexuals are wealth and powerful. It was clear that either policy would change or funding would cease. The Boy Scout leadership put a price on its soul. This vile Gates will allow homosexuals positions of leadership within a year and like a locust will then move on.
Homosexual men should not take little boys in the woods.
Its just that simple.

So basically he said, he wants gay adults in BSA leadership, but it will kill the organization if they try to do it.
My guess is that they are already seriously hurt, for him to have said that.
I’m currently an Weblos Den Leader, and while I am disgusted at this whole gay-crap, I am appreciative that Gates is trying to mend the issue.
.... of course, O’Bama is supposed to be the default President of the BSA but he has refused (I suppose because he doesn’t believe in the scout oath).
In practice I don’t believe that last years rulings will change very much. I don’t think that many openly gay kids are going to be attracted to scouting anyway. As long as we can keep Gay Leaders who may have recruitment desires out I think were OK.
So I take Gates at his word, and hope that the issue is over. We’ll see soon enough.

What on earth is the ex-director of the CIA doing as head of the Boy Scouts of America??
Certainly, Gates is in league with Satan. I seriously doubt that a "strong majority" voted for the BSA to bend the law "morally straight."
The current administration is also in the same league with their push for same sex marriage and gays in all positions of the scouts. Gates has strong connections with the current administration and wants to please his bosses. Other cowardly scout executives fear losing funding and the support of the military, given that scouting is a big business.
They have given up their integrity, and like termites systematically destroying a foundation of a wooden house, the BSA organization will eventually crumble because its foundation has been compromised.
What’s with the ALL CAPS that makes it so difficult to read?
The BSA succumbed to the call of Satan. They will pay the price for years to come.
