Poroshenko wins in landslide, vows to 'bring peace' to Ukraine (UPDATES)

Petro Poroshenko wins Ukraine's presidency in the first round, according to the results of two national exit polls, with approximately 56 percent of the vote.

Ukrainians elected Petro Poroshenko to be their fifth president in a vote that was dubbed "the second independence referendum."

Poroshenko won his presidency in the first round, according to two exit polls.

The poll conducted by four TV channels showed that he received 57.8 percent of the vote. The national exit poll, conducted by a consortium of reputable survey takers, put Poroshenko at slightly less -- 55.9 percent of the votes, but still a clear majority.

His main rival, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, received 12.8 of the vote in the TV poll and 12.9 percent in the national poll.

Everyone else finished in single digits in both exit polls.

A second round of voting would have been required on June 15 if no candidate among the 21 on the ballot had secured the majority of votes.

I am ignoring your commie lies, not facts. This situation was started by thtraitor Yanukovich who looted his country of billions and then fled to Russia, abondoning his office.

The Obama administration never supported or even met with Swoboda or Right Sector. Nuland supported Yatsenyuk because he has the most political experience, not because he’s the most radical.

So everything you typed is 100% false.

Is John McCain part of the Obama administration?

Does John McCain speak for USA?

I know when you are an anti-American Putinista, all Americans kind of blend tother into some kind of bogeyman, but try to get it straight.

“This situation was started by thtraitor Yanukovich who looted his country of billions and then fled to Russia”

So, you voluntarily choose to ignore everything that led up that point?? Or did history somehow start the day the elected government fell?

That is defined as “willful ignorance”.

Russian state TV reports far-right Pravy Sektor leader Yarosh got 37% in Ukraine's election, not the 1% he did.

LOL.

“I know when you are an anti-American Putinista”

lol...
You Maidan trolls keep getting funnier and funnier, and more shrill, as events keep proving you wrong.

Now, you are trying to deny history.

Events up until now have fallen pretty much as expected, from the time the Right Sector showed up at the Maidan.

....”Does this have the approval of Poroshenko?
Or is this the election losers trying, yet again, to change the facts on the ground to their advantage?”....

I don’t know....but he hasn’t been sworn in yet so I suspect there’s a lull where the “losers” can continue to swing their bats and fire their guns.

Lysinsh or whatever his name is,(3rd Pres. runner-up) who has militia’s in the East...says he’s going back up East to continue with the fight. Not unsurprisingly.

Yeah...
It was TV1...
Not sure where they came up with that one, and they changed it pretty quickly, but it all the rage on Twitter.

Kinda like CBS calling Florida for Gore, before the polls had even closed.

You can’t produce a single shred of evidence that the USA fomented the uprising against Yanukovich, because their is no such evidence. Just lies. The people of Ukraine rose against Yanukovich because he was a tyrant and a traitor. Ukraine won, and Putin lost.

What were there 80 or 90 protestors shot by Yanukovich's Berkut, many of the shootings caught on video. Yes, let's not ignore that.

“The East boycotted the presidential election which was neither fair nor free.”

The election was both fair and free and the Russian wannabees in the East lost big, as did Russia and Putie poot.

“Yes, let’s not ignore that.”

Nor can we ignore how the violence started when RS arrived. Up until then, it had been a fairly peaceful episode. Both Omidyar Network and Renaissance NGO’s were heavily involved, as well. Or have you forgotten the burned and beaten cops?
Is that too convenient a truth to accept?

Maidan was hijacked by people with a far different agenda than was the original intent.

There are no “good guys” here, but to simply ignore facts because it doesn’t meet whatever your approved propaganda is stinks of spamming.

Yes, Obama meddling is probably what lit this bonfire.

I hope that this election calms things down, perhaps some kind of alignment might be possible now with eastern Ukraine.

Crimea is united with Russia for good, I think that is best given that it is full of Russian soldiers and their most important port facility is there.

I may be totally wrong but I get the feeling that Obama and the dems are looking to start a major war so they can blame the inevitable economic collapse on some external enemy and avoid having the blame land at their feet. They are trying to start war in Syria and Ukraine...if they can’t get one there they may try N.Korea or who knows where else...but they are itching for war IMO.

As soon as the dead ender Russian wannabees come out and surrender, things can settle down.

Otherwise, it’s a time for killing.
