The authors of this article are obviously pro-Palesimian, and I urge skepticism on that basis. Nevertheless, I fear that His Holiness has just tried to douse burning embers with gasoline.

Sorry, I guess I might be best described as a failed Catholic. But this pope is a disaster.
How did we get from Benedict to this guy?
I think he is a South American Jesuit Communist and he is very disturbing.
You know, the pope should every day ask to see the NY Times, etc. and if they say he is doing a good job he should say: Oh heck, I’m really messing up!

There are in fact a lot of partial quotes, padded with what YAHOO! apparently thinks should have been said. It may be that the Pope doesn't want to appear too strongly to take sides.

Don’t make too much out of diplomatic niceties.

A south American Jesuit Communist is a good example.
I'd go a bit further and says he's in the early stages of dementia.

“Why can’t you people make nice.”
OK, who has the rabid jihad? It ain’t the Jews.

I would apply the same test to conservative politicians.

It may indeed. Propaganda is one of the few arts that the Palis excell at.

You & I will probably get flamed but, I wholeheartedly agree with you.
This Pope is a Liberal Jesuit disaster. I warned folks about him when he was first installed and was dismissed. John Paul II & Benedict were good for the Church, this guy may as well destroy it.

I guess his Holiness is just fine with the suicide bombings that the Wall effectively stopped.
I am not Catholic, but the evidence increasingly shows that the Pope is a Leftist.

This Pope has repeatedly advocated breaking the Eighth. Ninth and Tenth Commandments, and now that he has managed to align himself with the so-called Palestinians, you claim “diplomatic niceties”?

The Palestinian murder of innocent Israeli civilians (that has been going on now for decades), and Israel's legitimate defense of itself and its citizens is NOT a moral equivalency - but Francis is framing the issue in exactly that fashion.
This guy cannot even discern homosexual sin, much less Palestinian terrorism.

The Catholic church has typically felt sympathy for Christians in the Holy Land. Let’s just they are not on the happy side of the wall

This pope is following a centuries long Catholic tradition of “embracing homosexuality”.

I thought Benedict's visit to the Mideast seemed respectful and even handed. His style of discussing world events from a religious viewpoint might be what's needed. He did call for an end to arming the insurgents who are slaughtering Christians. He did set up a meeting between Israeli and Palestinian leaders in the Vatican.
Maybe he can accomplish something to end the global madness that could destroy world civilization. No one else is.

Yes, every day! If the MSM isn’t calling you a racist, sexist, homophobe - you’re not doing it right.
