Concerns Over Police Brutality After a Bronx Arrest Goes Awry (Rev. Sharpton Defends Knockout Gamer)
NY Times ^ | 5-24-2014 | MICHAEL SCHWIRTZ

Authorities said that Javier and his friend, who was not identified, were walking in the vicinity of East 189th Street and Arthur Avenue in the west Bronx when they saw the 49-year-old man and asked for a cigarette. The man later told investigators that when he refused and turned to walk away, one of the boys punched him in the head and another hit him with a backpack before running off. He suffered minor injuries. Then, officials and witnesses said, the sergeant grabbed Javier and pushed him hard against the window of the hookah store, shattering the glass and badly cutting Javier’s head and body.

Poor baby.

hey if he was “man enough” to knock down an old man, he was man enough to get his butt whipped. (Oh, sorry can I say “whipped”? Is that racist?)

knock down an old man

The guy who was knocked down is 49 years old. If you consider that an "old man," I won't tell you my age.

If you were a real man, Al, you’d humiliate him in front of the cameras by telling him that it’s his fault and the fault of his parents for their lack of parenting, and then turn his @$$ around, make him bend over, and spank him with a board of education.

There’s no $ in that.

Noticed the healed scar....

Doubt very highly it was surgery for medical or birth defect condition...

Unless you consider “gangster related wounds” an “birth defect condition”...

H.L. Mencken once wrote of a police officer who was convinced that it was physically impossible to hit a suspect on the head with a nightstick *too hard*. Somehow avoiding wrist injury while thumping suspects this way, the officer was befuddled when his superiors asked him to use his club less. He confessed that times were changing, and not for the better.

” a police officer does not shove a handcuffed child.”
if the handcuffed child just assaulted a person and is fighting the police, the officer SHOULD subdue the feral savage.

“I don’t think anyone can excuse the police sergeant for what he did”

I do. These thugs need a lot of street justice, and if you are unwilling to mete it out, step aside.

If we brought back the stocks and whipping post, we would be seeing a lot less of this sort of crime by ferals.

Maybe he didn't deserve to get thrown through a window. But 15 lashes and 12 hours standing in the stocks in the hot sun peeing down his own leg and getting garbage thrown at him might give him some perspective on what it is to be "civilized" to his fellow man.

My "sympathy meter" didn't wiggle a smidgen for this little criminal. I hope his stitches infect and Al Sharpton gets mugged by one of his homies and everybody laughs and steps over him.

Agreed. If you or I had inflicted those injuries rather than a cop, we’d be looking at hard time. Cops are not supposed to be above the law.

You are wrong. If police are allowed to administer “street justice” to mouthy teens in handcuffs with impunity then next they you know they’ll be doing forced colonoscopies for traffic violations.

Oh wait, that’s already happening.

Unreasonable use of force is unreasonable use of force even if the victim is a rotten little puke.

And maybe the police officer felt threatened or that the kid was going to assault him. It is amazing that they make the officer the bad guy. clearly if the kid had not done what he did there would not be this mess. Sharpton is a criminal low life.
