Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) talking with "Radio Liberty" on Radio Free Europe said America must stand against Russia's "acts of war" in Ukraine. Cruz said the United States should give the Ukrainian people "the tools and equipment necessary to defend themselves." The Texas junior senator also said it's time to install anti-ballistic missiles in Eastern Europe now and eventually in the Ukraine.
Cruz's call for an Eastern Europe missile-defense system is similar to a proposal by President George W. Bush as a deterrent to Russian President Vladimir Putin's aggression in Georgia in 2008. Bush's plan was abandon by President Barack Obama in 2009...

Obama doesn’t even want ballistic missile defense in the US.

Cruz is very Reagan like.
We will need to follow the weak/libertarian foreign policy style of Obama, with someone who knows how to protect America.

The US needs to make up its mind concerning Ukraine.
Quite obviously, Russia is trying to pull it apart. Does US have the gumption and glue to put it back together again or at least keep it from falling apart worse? Not under Obama it doesn’t, and Cruz should IMHO try not to be cruel by giving Ukraine false hopes.
I’m not sure what any modern ABM system could do against a heavy barrage of missiles. Onesy-twosy missiles such as from Iran or North Korea are one question. Russian missiles are another, if Russia gets that reckless.

They do have some oil fields. Bring modern fracking to them and they might be looking pretty.

If the Ukraine wants a ballistic missile defense system then let them buy it from us.

I like Ted Cruz, but I don’t think this is a good idea. Something about not poking bears. They need to work this out amongst themselves.

True, Carter and JFK shared his incompetence, but this is the first time that we have seen this actual hardcore maliciousness from a president, although JFK did also have an anti-American (people) view which is what caused his goal to replace us with immigration, and even Carter shared a view of America as something that needed to be curbed, and that the world needed protection from.

I'm not.
Staying out of it, the preferred choice of those supporting the Pauls, Libertarians, and Neville Chamberlain, is what allows World Wars to start and ultimately gets us into World Wars.

Hard to believe Cruz would even mention missiles in Ukraine, though that was apparently one of the agreements Keiv Gov had to agree on for our backing of their revolution and establishing their temporary Governance.
Putting missles there would be like Russia’s move on Cuba.....no doubt Putin would retaliate in some way.
