Are Children's sissors that dangerous??

Today my family and I had need of entering a federal building. In the process of doing so we encountered the following crazy federal hangups.

1) one family member had a pair of child's sissors they forgot about. these had to be removed and kept up front before we were allowed entrance to the building. now bear in mind thousands of kids take the very same kind of sissors to the gun free zones known as schools every day without a care. in fact, the schools often supply the "deadly" weapons.

2) another family member had left their driver's license at home. when asked to produce an id they did have a state sanctioned and approved ID but this wasn't going to be good enough for the "security" officers manning the check point.

a supervisor had to be called over to give the approval for the ID.

now if we had wanted to vote we could have just showed up with nothing in hand and been allowed to vote in the minds of libs.

oh, and the reason we had need of entering a federal building??

to witness a friend complete the legal naturalization process to become a U.S. citizen. and their first introduction to America...the red tape of the federal bureaucracy.

Well, as a ute, I was told not to run with scissors, so I guess they can be dangerous. /s

Dangerous? Maybe to a sister. My oldest cut my youngest’s beautiful curls off one morning while I was pouring their juice.

The youngest still hasn’t forgiven her.

Let’s not give the left-wing behavior regulators any more ideas.

Children’s scissors are not anything as dangerous as they were back in the day. I used to run around with the dangerous pointy ones back in Second Grade (Circa 1974,75) I and none of my classmates never managed to stab anyone, while running around the playground during recess, NOR while we were doing paper Mache during the Arts part of the class. THIS IS NONSENSE!

The government is not afraid of your Scissors.

The government is afraid of We The People.

That’s funny. While I was small I got my bangs wet while I was washing my face. Knew I would get in trouble for having wet hair so I got the scissors and cut all the wet hair off right at the scalp line. My mother was not amused.

I also had a friend whose mother would wind her waist length hair into sausage curls with rags every Saturday night so she would have curls on Sunday for church. She just got tired of them so one Saturday night when I was staying with her we just cut them off. Her mother was not amused either and neither was mine. The tears we both shed after this episode were not tears of joy.

We talked about it when we had a chance to see one another at our 50th high school class reunion and had a good laugh about it.

Then of course there are those really sharp Eagle pencils.

I keep a few pair of scissors in the kitchen as they will really cut. All of them are Fiskars brand but one is a really heavy duty one.

The are dangerous to the extent that you can easily cut your fingers as they cut easier than a knife in some situations.

The youngest had tears, not of joy, running down her face. She kept pulling hunk after hunk of beautiful curls down and putting them on the table. ‘Oh no...Oh no...Oh no...’

And the cheeky oldest told me ‘I didn’t mean it!’.

She had to go 3 rooms away, pull a chair up, climb over a piece of furniture and into a closet to get them (I had them hidden for a good reason!) and then back into the family room and cut the hair all while I was getting and pouring juice.

Yeah, ‘didn’t mean it’ indeedy. She was not quite 5, the youngest was not quite 3.

Huh. Even when I was in second grade (circa 1956) we had the rounded tip type scissors.

The irony of this story makes me sad.

But congrats to your friends.

The new ones could have a real sharp burr from the stamping process...
