I have no idea what constitutes ‘rape’ there, do you? It could simply be consensual sex between a 19 and 17 year old.

Yeah she can consent. 15 years old is an age of reason. Not that it should be legal but having sex with a consenting 15 year old deserves to be in a different category of crime than having sex with her without her consent.
I believe the law is not about ‘can they consent’ but are they mature enough to understand the consequences of the consent? So to protect their immaturity, the law does not allow them the right to make the decision.
Now, that’s not to say some teens aren’t as mature as adults, it’s just a benchmark age for a majority. I don’t think it’s written down any where, it just seems to be a consensus of those making the rules.

I never said they were old enough for sex. However at 16 most are still in high school...so the law is not the only source of whether someone should be sexually active.
As a Christian I would discourage it before marriage...but tell me how many teens listen to that advice? Considering the public school atmosphere, teen pressure, and television.
However, in my experience you don’t throw teens out to be taken advantage of because you disagree with their actions. God is LOVE and he did not throw us out, but instead forgave us and helped us learn how to live....by example. Jesus is the only perfect person, so I certainly would not expect a 15 year old to be able to live a perfect life.
Our parental disappointments should not destroy their life....it is dangerous out there. No, it isn’t easy with teens, but what worth having in life is? Family takes work, forgiveness, and patience....and unconditional love.

‘Caning’ is not getting smacked on the ass. Not in the orient. There is a doctor present for a reason. Too heavy a touch and the end of the cane will strip meat out of the person’s back, not just the skin.

Well...based on this then that Montana judge who sentenced that teacher who raped a student to 30 days in jail doesn’t seem so bad.
