How Lindsey Graham Stomped the Tea Party(Grahamnesty gloats and so are the libs)

(Subtitle : "One of the Senate's most liberal Republicans is rolling to victory in one of the reddest states. Are other Republicans watching how he did it? GREENVILLE, S.C.—Kicking the crap out of the Tea Party is the most fun Senator Lindsey Graham has ever had. ")

"More fun than any time I've been in politics," Graham tells me at the YMCA here, where he's about to address a couple dozen supporters. Little kids are streaming through the halls to their gym classes, and a smell of sweat hangs in the air. "Because people are being uplifting," Graham continues. "People are really saying, 'OK, enough already.' They're starting to push back from trying to define conservatism in a fashion where there is no room for solving problems."

Ever since the rise of the Tea Party, Graham—a politician who seems to delight in sticking his finger in the eye of the Republican base—has been on the front lines of the struggle for the soul of the GOP. For years, they have heckled him and called him names. But now he is having the last laugh. Facing six no-name opponents in Tuesday's primary, Graham needs 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff, and he is confident he will get it.

I kept posting here that he is slick and to watch him closely.

He even dropped the I word (Impeachment) the other day for the idiots. Now he is gloating about it.

He knows exactly how to play the suckers and he did it again.

Sorry Lindsay I couldn’t hear you over the earthquake of Cantor’s loss.

Since Cochran is trying to nuke McDaniel from winning the general, time to let McConnell and Graham get beat in the general.

* Close and seal the Southern US Border, all 2,000 + miles of it.

* Cancel NAFTA.

* Abolish all Federal, State and Local Welfare payments to non-citizens of the USA.

* Block all money transfers to Mexico, or other any Country South of our Southern Border.

* Have lunch.

* After lunch, pass and sign Federal Penalty law to anyone who hires an Illegal Alien Invader, with a fine of $1,000 per day per alien.

* String Concertina Wire Holding-Pen Stockades at 100 mile intervals for the gotta-ways.

* Be as hostile to Mexicans as the Mexicans have been to the US Marine held and tortured in Prison by the Mexican Guards for the last two months.

* Hire Greyhound Bus Company to transport Illegal Alien Invaders to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Chain Link Desert Spa near Phoenix, Arizona.

* Have supper.

Guess Virginia has more elite universities? Seriously, I don’t get it.

I will say Brat seems to be a great guy personally, seminary, accounting, a patriot and conservative, all together equals trust. Cantor both waffled and betrayed his voters and mostly, he switched his allegiance and alliances.

Graham is worse, but as Ingraham says, Graham is a smart great retail politician. SC voters must eat it up. Very discouraging for saving our country.

Nothing. Six challengers faced him and divided up the conservative vote.

And among them they couldn’t get 50%+1.

We need candidates like Brat. That's been our real problem, finding stellar candidates to primary these jerks. And they have to be stellar because they're fighting tons of money, spin, and opposition research.

Six challengers faced him and divided up the conservative vote.

That's not how it works in a runoff system. Gramnesty needed 50% +1 vote to win outright and avoid a runoff, which he did. The outcome would not have been different had there been fewer challengers -- all six combined didn't manage to get to 50%.

Too confusing. Brat vs Cantor was simple, and Brat kept it simple by focusing laser-like on amnesty. Anti-Graham candidates had long lists of complaints against Graham. Way too complicated. Should have nailed him on amnesty.

Quality candidates are rare, but yes of course Graham did not have Brat against him. Brat was intellegent, not just rhetorical, and authentic. A competent economist!

So was Cruz, competent. Against highly positioned incumbents who are fat and funded, run of the mill in a hat just can not cut it.

From the article:

("I'm at a different stage of my life than he is," Graham said when I asked him about Cochran, adding, "I've been planning for a hard contest for two years.") He raised $13 million and seeded a formidable campaign operation, with more than 5,000 precinct captains and six field offices around the state. Through a combination of intimidation and enticement—as when he helped a conservative congressman, Mick Mulvaney, get a seat on the House Financial Services Committee—he kept the most prominent potential opponents out of the race. His six challengers include a state senator and five first-time candidates; combined, they have raised about $2 million.

He claims his win sent the Tea Party all these messages but it simply shows how hard it is to beat an entrenched bought-and-paid for politician.

Just get a few Dunderhead GOP-Es on the ticket and dilute the Conservative vote so Limp Lindsay can slink in.
