Rep. Peter King fears Ted Cruz, Rand Paul stronger

Rep. Peter King on Wednesday said the Republican Party cannot allow Ted Cruz and Rand Paul to take over following House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s defeat. “We can’t allow Eric’s defeat last night allow the Ted Cruzes and the Rand Pauls to take over the party, or their disciples to take over the party,” the moderate New York Republican said on MSNBC.

King has been great on some issues, but has a disgraceful past as an admirer of the IRA (which was/is basically a semi-domesticated terrorist organization).

A strong-minded individual, King has the weakness of not listening to the wisdom of others. He is very unreliable.

But anyone replacing him would be worse. After all, he is from New York State, in an area where Republicans are rare.

The King of New York has been around long enough, (20 years in the House), to make a run for the US Senate as a Democrat.

Things are falling apart for GOP-E loyalists such as The King of New York, and why not spend a couple of 6 year terms as a deal-making Senator?

The King of New York stress meter went up slightly due to Cantor’s well-deserved loss yesterday, and has been slowly rising to a modest 4.271 Conservative Fear index.

After this Politico Interview, King’s Conservative Fear Index is slowly lowering towards his average of 4.1.

i don’t consider libertarians to be liberal in the current nomenclature. Liberal now means socialist/communist. libertarians usually stand for less government. individual right to contact, property rights, and all of the natural rights including personal defense. and some like to smoke pot. Most of the libertarians i know are God loving, family loving, constitutionalists, and don’t smoke pot.

Paul is not a conservative.

That is what makes this a trick statement. Grouping a liberal and a conservative together as if they were the same. The only thing the same is that they are both very out spoken, and I guess that in Rep King’s head that is something to be afraid of. King only wants people who sit back and do what they are told while being quiet and letting the Rino liberal King types run the show.

PAUL: Well, I think that once again puts things in too small of a box. What I would say is that there are thousands of exceptions. You know, I’m a physician and every individual case is going to be different, and everything is going to be particular to that individual case and what’s going on with that mother and the medical circumstances of that mother.

I would say that after birth, you know, we’ve decided that when life begins, we have decided that we don’t have exceptions for one- day-old or six-month-olds. We don’t ask where they came from or how they came into being, but it is more complicated because the rest of it depends on the definition of when life comes in. So, I don’t think it’s a simple as checking box and saying exceptions or no exceptions.

And there are a lot of decisions that are made privately by families and their doctors that really won’t — the law won’t apply to, but I think it’s important that we not be flippant one way or the other and pigeon hole and say, oh, this person doesn’t believe in any sort of discussion between family. And so, I don’t know if there’s a simple way to put me in a category on any of that.

BLITZER: Well, it sounds like you believe in some exceptions.

PAUL: Well, there’s going to be, like I say, thousands of extraneous situations where the life of the mother is involved and other things that are involved.

So, I would say that each individual case would have to be addressed and even if there were eventually a change in the law, let’s say, the people came more to my way of thinking, it’s still be a lot of complicated things that the law may not ultimately be able to address in the early stages of pregnancy that would have to be part of what occurs between the physician and the woman and the family.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, Sen. Paul introduced S.583, a bill that would implement equal protection under the 14th Amendment for the right to life of each born and unborn human. This legislation does not amend or interpret the Constitution, but simply relies on the 14th Amendment, which specifically authorizes Congress to enforce its provisions.

From Section 1 of the 14th Amendment:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

"The Life at Conception Act legislatively declares what most Americans believe and what science has long known - that human life begins at the moment of conception, and therefore is entitled to legal protection from that point forward,” Sen. Paul said. “ The right to life is guaranteed to all Americans in the Declaration of Independence and ensuring this is upheld is the Constitutional duty of all Members of Congress.

He would never win a democrat primary for the Senate (and I don’t see Chuckle S leaving any way but feet first, so there ain’t gonna be an open seat).
