Looking like something out of Enders Game, this illustration comes courtesy NASA physicist Harold White, who collaborated with an artist to reveal what a warp drive ship might actually look like. Back in 2012, White revealed that he and a team were designing a faster-than-light ship. This is the first hint at its appearance.

Or maybe Pecos Bill. Anyway Ali did not invent the story.
Superman and the Flash were discussing who was faster when Wonder Woman happened by...
(old joke)
Yea but old Han wasn’t faster than a garage door earlier today...
“Something I have wondered about is: Can God violate the laws of physics?”
Sure, but it’s a moot point if we don’t how all the laws of physics work to their ultimate conclusion, whatever that might be. When something miraculous happens, it could be a method that actually works within the rules, just not rules we understand yet. Or it could just be ‘pillar of salt’ and bam it happens.
Freegards
I think it’s funny when people confuse science fiction with reality.
Well, if Linda Carter was under the covers, I could get under them covers even faster.
What ever she’s dancing, she’s beautiful ....
Bad idea....best watch you 6 cuz Supes is right behind you ;)
Virgins? Did you say we need virgins.?
Let me gather the posse to begin the search...
Einstein’s relativity theory applies only to objects moving through space. This is supposed to stretch and shrink space itself, similar to how the universe can expand beyond the speed of light while the galaxies within it technically do not.
But just to be fair, NASA will give Muslims the technology for free, because they’re too preoccupied with killing each other and everyone else to invent anything on their own.
“Much of what we have today is based upon tech that didnt exist 100 to 200 years ago.”
Yes, but a lot of the technology was scientifically feasible, we just didn’t know how to build it and make it work. For example, the principles of a rocket are the same whether we are talking Chinese fireworks from a thousand years ago, or the Saturns that we built to go to space.
When you are talking warp drives, we have no idea if the technology would even be feasible. We can’t explain how exactly gravity works, much less know if it we could even find a way to warp spacetime in the way gravity does, without accumulating some huge amount of mass. Until we have a better theoretical understanding of this stuff, any of this proposed technology is not even science fiction, it is straight up fantasy.
Event Horizon anyone?
Instead of paying these guys for this, why doesn’t NASA just fire them and hire somebody to do some real engineering and design.
True enough. But look at the horsepower of computing and the rate of advance. And D-Wave is becoming legit tech now as well. when it matures, Katy bar the door.
