The name sounds part Canadian and part Mexican. But he is true-blue American from Puerto Rico. He represents Moscow (Idaho) in Congress.

This is my oldest son Matthew greeting Congressman Raul Labrador in Baghdad a couple of years back.

Matt serves in the Idaho National Guard and lives in Labrador's district.

Congressman Labrador is by trade an immigration lawyer, and a few years ago worked with the Dems extensively to bring about "immigration reform," until he finally saw the political liability he was creating for himself in ID-1. Then he pulled out and took a more "nuanced" position.

Suffice it to say that, personally, I don't trust him on this critical issue of national survival.

That's about all I have to say on this subject, because I can't stand McCarthy either.

But conservatives should know the facts.

Right now, we are offering more H1B1 visas to foreigners each year than the annual job growth for STEM workers. This is nothing but a screw job for our own citizens. Great deal for Mark Zuckerberg and company. The foreign engineers will work for far lower salaries and benefits than our own engineers.

This program should be shut down until there is an real demand for high tech workers.

“Who is going to do these essential jobs? Holders people who are stuck in some Reparations warp or our sorryass overweight white kids that have grown up pampered and rarely show up on the job on time or have any real skills beyond playing computer games and texting?”

That’s our conundrum. My personal experience here in CA is that Hispanics are hard-working people, while the “fat whites,” and Holder’s people are couch potatoes who try their best not to work. We also have a substantial Vietnamese community and they are also very hard-working as a group. We used to have a guest worker program here in CA (braceros) wherein the Mexicans could come here on a seasonal basis to do our stoop labor in the fields, but the Blacks (at at the time) raised a stink saying that the non-citizen Hispanics coming here under the program were “taking their jobs.” So the “Black leadership” in our State Legislature led by a crooked Black by the name of Mervyn Dymally got the program eliminated. And you know what, in my 73 years here in CA I have NEVER seen a Black working in a farm field (I guess maybe they don’t want to get their Air Jordan’s dirty).

Who the hell wants a "middleman" for an assignment as GOP House leader dealing with a contentious national issue!

No way, Jose....er, Raul.

We want a "right", not a "middle" man.

All I've done is state the facts concerning the Congressman's history. Do you dispute them? Conservatives around the country deserve not to be sold a pig in a poke, don't you think?

"[I]t is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it."

-- Patrick Henry, 'Give me liberty or give me death' speech
