—Governor Rick Snyder continues to lead his Democratic challenger, former U.S. Congressman Mark Schauer, while Congressman Gary Peters now leads former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land in the U.S. Senate race according to the latest Mitchell Poll of Michigan conducted for MIRS (Michigan Information Research Services) and announced during a presentation for Farmers Group, Inc. at a meeting in Lansing today. However, Snyder’s lead has dropped since an April poll while Peters has taken the lead over Land. According to the new Mitchell Poll, Snyder leads Schauer by 5% (46%-41% with 13% undecided). In an April 9, 2014 survey, Snyder led 49%-37%, a 12% margin. Peters leads Land by 3% (45%-42%) in the latest poll, but he trailed Land by 6% (44%-38%) in April.

Gary Peters seems to be working the stump harder and it appears he’s the slight favorite now. Thankfully. there’s plenty of time to turn this race around and it remains very close. Republicans remain fearful of a gaffe by Land.

Ultimately, I believe she’ll pull it off. It’s been 20 years since a Republican won a Senate race in MI, and it’s high time to correct that.

Meh, it’s summer.

The only things we are thinking about right now are getting to the lake, or going up north to the cottage.

We get swamped with ads in the fall, so no one wants to hear about politics at this point.

They’re busy attacking her for being a climate change denier lately.

She’s got till November since this is kind of a meaningless primary with her having no opponent on the right.

Republicans remain fearful of a gaffe by Land.

Where do you get that from?

I keep hearing about how gaffe prone she is but so far no one seems to know where she got the reputation.

Peters ads outnumber Land ads where I am. I want to throw something at the TV when I hear those ads with womyn complaining about how Land wants them to pay for their own birth control.

The ONLY Ads I've seen were spot on, specifically, calling out Peters for his support of Obamacare........

The Peters Ads against Land were typical hit pieces without any substance.......

Who ya gonna believe? November will tell the truth........

She’s got a few good ads.

I understand what you're saying and visiting the Youtube site, I saw ads I hadn't seen before.

With that being said Youtube Ads are nothing more than preaching to the choir, those interested enough to see what the candidate has to say.

They're air borne quality but I've yet to see them being aired on local TV stations where they should be seen by those who are not computer engaged........

I’ve seen the Job Killers ad on TV a few times but mostly I’ve seen the AFP ads and they can’t even mention Land.

She is very internet engaged which is good.

I will vote for Land, but she doesn’t seem particularly polished or charismatic. To me, her ads come across as sterile and formulaic. We’ll see....

She is responsive.

A couple weeks back I tweeted that she should look into the oil trains rolling through heavily populated areas of Detroit and the potential disaster it could bring. She thanked me and then the next day she was asking for people living along a certain set of tracks to contact her.

Is she gaffe prone?

I think she’ll pull it out, open seat, good year (knock on wood), cookie cutter rat, Republican who’s won statewide.

If not now....
