Pentagon studying protesters to prep for ‘mass civil breakdown’
The Washington Times ^ | June 13, 2014 | Cheryl K. Chumley

The Department of Defense has disbursed some funds to universities so that scientists might study the dynamics of civil unrest — and how the U.S. military might best respond.

It’s called the “Minerva Research Initiative,” and it’s a program that was kicked off in 2008 to “improve DoD’s basic understanding of the social, cultural, behavioral and political forces that shape regions of the world of strategic importance to the U.S.,” The Guardian reported.

Those individuals targeted for questioning include political activists and members of non-governmental organizations — something that The Guardian pointed to as potential for concern.

The government has been working hard to bring about a breakdown in the civil order. (see communist playbook) So it’s not surprising that they are preparing to mow down the normal people who would dare go in the streets with signs asking for less intrusive government .

I hate to say it but it's not going to happen this way. Obamacare is absolutely devastating this country yet nobody outside the business community cares. Speaking against it publicly is a surefire way to get audited and persecuted...and then the government blatantly stonewalls and lies about it. Blatantly. Meanwhile the media keeps everyone distracted with celebrity news, gossip and entertainment.

There will be no uprising. People are like lemmings...we'll go over the cliff following one another.

I wonder if the results of their studies will include a scenario where a million armed civilians ride into town on tanks being driven by their enlisted sons and daughters.

During the Iranian revolution there was news footage of soldiers and police throwing their guns down and turning to run WITH the protestors. It’s happening again in Iraq. We can only hope a lot of local cops see the wrong being done and join the good guys. And of course, we can hope that lots of soldiers, including the higher ranked, will refuse to fire on civilians.

Every liberal and every so called conservative in this country will actually be surprised when they’re rounded up. The only thing that will give me a little bit of comfort is to get to see the looks on their faces and, hopefully, to see some politicians’ children taken into custody.

I would argue the expected events in Afghanistan and the actual events in Iraq are separate and distinct.

Both are likely related to the Obama retreat however.

The events in Iraq are an extension of the civil war in Syria. Isis has extended the captured territory in Syria into Iraq. The swath is populated by related Sunni tribes separated by the artificial boundary drawn by British and French diplomats when they carved up the Ottaman empire at the end of WW l. They have chafed at the Shia bit for a long time and have this week spit it out.

I don’t know if the Shia have the want to to reverse the change

Hey DOD - we got the guns.

You might want to pull yourself up sharp for a minute and explore exactly why this ‘mass civil breakdown’ may happen.

Do you really think it will happen because of those of us who live in rural areas?

We’re plenty peaceful already. You leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone.

But always remember, pissing me off will be a most unpleasant occasion.

You all are hitting some very good points...They are all self evident, and with credible substance and passion...

I would caution/advise that we should be very careful about what we write here, as far as personal capabilities, and intent...

I am re-iterating that this is only what is available out there for us to see, not what they may intend to do to us per say...

Our comms here are not as secure as you would think they are, they know enough about us already, why give them more reason to dog further...

Just keep cool, calm, and resolute that you know what you will do, what you are prepared to do about it, and what you are willing to sacrifice for those goals...No need to broadcast them (publically) here...

Play some reverse psychology here...What really gets them is when we do get kinda quiet...Then they start floating things out there to see (who among us) who nibbles or takes a bite...

I hear ya, but the reality is -- sad to say -- I am mostly bark and no bite. Look at my entire life. I have done precious little but gripe. They'd waste resources on a target like me.
