. . . I am Jesus whom you persecute.
But rise, and stand upon your feet:
for I have appeared unto you for this purpose,
to make you a minister and a witness
both of these things which you have seen,
and of those things in the which I will appear unto you;
Delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles,
unto whom now I send you,
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and an inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me."
Acts 26: 15-18

Holy God,
Your message to Paul is a message to us all. You have called us to be witnesses to those who do not know You, to help open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light. All need forgiveness, including each one us. Lord, help us to share the Gospel so that all may receive the inheritance that comes from the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Father, we pray that all those in the military would be touched by the power of the Holy Spirit and the amazing grace of the full measure of salvation. For those who are living in darkness, we pray that the Light would be shared with them and that the Light would truly change their lives forever. Lord, make each one not only a recipient of salvation, but also a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
We pray for this revelation for all Israel as well. May Your blessings be received by the nation and its leaders, as well as all who dwell there. Lord, we pray for Your wisdom to be received and utilized by their spiritual and political leaders.
Lord, we confess that satan is a defeated foe, yet he still stalks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. May we rely fully upon the Word of Truth to strike down this enemy, and may we never accept his lies and distortions.
We give thanks to You, Lord, and we sing praises unto Your Name, O Most High. For You, Lord, have made us glad through Your work; therefore we triumph in the works of Your hands. Blessed is the Mighty Name of God! We pray this in Jesus Name. Amen.

Focus On The Process
June 29, 2014
Read: 2 Peter 1:2-11
In William Zinssers book On Writing Well, he says that many writers suffer from the tyranny of the final product. They are so concerned with selling their article or book, they neglect learning the process of how to think, plan, and organize. A jumbled manuscript, Zinsser believes, is produced when the writer, his eye on the finish line, never gave enough thought to how to run the race.
Author and minister A. W. Tozer applies that principle to our spiritual lives. In his book The Root of the Righteous, Tozer describes our tendency to be concerned only with the fruit . . . [and] ignore the root out of which the fruit sprang.
The apostle Peter reminded first-century believers that Christlike living and effective service result from a process. He urged them to grow in eight areas of spiritual development: faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love (2 Peter 1:5-7). If you possess these qualities in increasing measure, Peter said, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (v.8).
God calls us to a wonderful process of learning to know Him, with the assurance that it will lead to productive service in His name and for His honor.
Lord, so often we want complete and perfect
solutions here and now. But You work graciously in
Your good time. Let Your goodness and patience and
virtue shine through us so that we may bless others.
The Christian life is a process in which we learn complete dependence on God.
God has given us everything we need for living a holy life (2 Peter 1:3). Therefore, Peter exhorts us to respond diligently to these great promises and abundant provisions of divine power (vv.4-5) by making every effort to grow in faith, graciousness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, devotedness, kindness, and love (vv.5-7).

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod" William Billings Mixed District Choir, Fairfax, Virginia (Click)
IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your Loving Embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
