A top federal wildlife official said there's too much uncertainty about climate change to prove it threatens the snow-loving wolverine — overruling agency scientists who warned of impending habitat loss for the so-called "mountain devil."
There's no doubt that the high-elevation range of wolverines is getting warmer, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Director Noreen Walsh said.
But any assumption about how that will change snowfall patterns is "speculation," Walsh said. She told her staff to prepare to withdraw a proposal to protect the animals under the Endangered Species Act.
Walsh's comments were contained in a May 30 memo obtained by the Center for Biological Diversity, an environmental group. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesman Chris Tollefson confirmed that Walsh — who heads the agency's mountain-prairie region — authored the document.
Agency Director Dan Ashe will have the final say, with a decision due Aug. 4.

The US government just released data that shows no warming (actually it shows COOLING) over the last 18+ years. This woman is a liar.
Not necessarily a contradiction.
It would be possible for there to be overall US or global cooling while still having warming in “the high-elevation range of wolverines.”
Not likely, but possible.
The important part is that there has been a refusal to designate a species as endangered based on computer projections rather than actual data.
The woman positively asserted that the range is warming. The ONLY data that does not have to be “adjusted” in the US shows cooling.
She has not presented her data, nor proven it is unadjusted.
Therefore, until she proves her “facts”, she is lying.
When you assert a fact you are required to at least present evidence (unaltered evidence) before the benefit of the doubt can come into play.
She is a liar.

Exactly. “There is no doubt” sounds pretty absolute to me. Reminds me of the comment “the debate is over.”
If it was just science, it would be one thing, but these kinds of statements are not scientific, but rather POLITICAL.
Feed each of those weasels one environmentalist a week... encourage them to enjoy seconds.
