It’s a confirmation of reports in June that ISIS had taken control of a site where some of Saddam’s WMD arsenal remained.
Iraq has informed the United Nations that the Islamic State extremist group has taken control of a vast former chemical weapons facility northwest of Baghdad where 2,500 chemical rockets filled with the deadly nerve agent sarin or their remnants were stored along with other chemical warfare agents.
Iraq’s U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim said in a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon circulated Tuesday that “terrorist” groups entered the Muthanna site June 11 and seized weapons and equipment from the protection force guarding the facility.

You might be right, but I am spooked by the cruddy way this facility was dealt with during US occupation, the fact that ISIS went to the trouble of capturing it, and the mysterious involvement of the Baathist general Al-Douri who is purportedly working with the Caliph
In 1992 the entire city of Tokyo was in stark terror after just 5 fatalities produced by a religious sect armed with just 4 saline bags containing dilute Sarin.
Something like 10,000 worried people flooded into hospitals.

You have this huge military bunker facility full of leaking toxic chemicals and propellants.
If you blow it up, you risk poisoning the surrounding areas and killing tons of people, including your own.
If you try to remove the stuff, you'll expose your men to deadly toxins and might cause an explosion in the process.
What 'word' would you say that would solve this ?

The general consensus was that the sarin was too old for Saddam to use.
STEP 1 - Hussein/McCain create, fund, equip ISIS.
STEP 2 - Hussein releases ISIS leaders from Gitmo.
STEP 3 - ISIS takes over Iraq w/help from Iran.
STEP 4 - ISIS seizes ‘nonexistent’ WMD rockets.
STEP 5 - Hussein announces ISIS ‘used WMD.’
STEP 6 - Hussein declares WW3.
Does WMD exist in Iraq? Doesn’t matter.
Will ISIS actually use WMD? Doesn’t matter.
Hussein seeks another excuse to declare WW3, ever since his ‘Assad used WMD and Saudis will pay us to invade’ debacle.
I honestly believe President Bush would. Why? I don’t know. But that’s how he operated. He made some good choices and some bad choices (unlike he positively evil occupant of the White House now, who only makes evil choices) but his method of operating did us no favors and enabled the vile left.
Let's hope the ISG did a thorough evaluation. How do we KNOW that ALL of the 2,500 warheads are inert?
Also, of immediate concern is our people still in Iraq and Afghanistan. Frightening beyond belief now.

We found and removed many "stockpiles". At the time, the MSM rarely reported on it, when forced to, the said they were just little "caches" and not worthy of the word "stockpile".
We didn't manage to find ALL of them.
According to wiki it appears the remaining Soviet stores of VX are still highly dangerous, a new plant was built in 2009 to destroy the last of it, so it probably has a shelf life of at least 20 years.
