My meditation of Him shall be sweet;
I will be glad in the Lord.
Psalm 104:34
TOPICS: Culture/Society; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: america; heroes; military; pray
Heavenly Father,
We give thanks to You Lord and glory in Your holy Name. Let the hearts of all rejoice who seek You, Lord. May we always remember the marvelous works that You have done---Your wonders, and the judgments of Your mouth. You have remembered Your covenant forever---Your Word which You commanded to a thousand generations.
Father, our hearts go out to Your people, Israel, as their land and their security are continually assaulted. Lord, we know that You bless them, and so we continue to lift our prayers to You, that Your powerful protection and blessing never leave them. Blessed are You, the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting.
Father, we pray for the protection of our military men and women, and we desire that their confidence would be in You, and You alone. Let them not trust in chariots or horses, but may they place their faith and their trust fully and completely in You. May their meditation of You be sweet and may they be glad in You. Father, Your promise is to supply every need for those who love You and put their faith in You.
Only You, Lord, can guide this nation out of the darkness and into the light. Give us the desire to repent from our waywardness and our wrong thinking. We pray that every problem America faces would come into obedience with Your will. You are far greater that any problems that we face, Lord, and we know that nothing is too difficult for You. We pray for willing hearts and minds to receive Your truth.
Thank You for Your faithfulness in all things, Father. We pray these petitions in the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod" William Billings Mixed District Choir, Fairfax, Virginia (Click)
IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your Loving Embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

No Grace
July 13, 2014
Read: 1 Peter 4:1-11
I have nicknamed our car No Grace. Sunday mornings are the worst. I load the car with all the stuff I need for church, get myself in my seat, close the door, and Jay starts backing out of the garage. While I am still getting settled, the seat belt warning starts buzzing. Please, I say to it, all I need is another minute. The answer, apparently, is no, because it continues buzzing until I am buckled in.
This minor annoyance is a good reminder of what life would be like if indeed there were no grace. Each of us would immediately be called to account for every indiscretion. There would be no time for repentance or change of behavior. There would be no forgiveness. No mercy. No hope.
Living in this world sometimes feels like falling into a no-grace sinkhole. When minor flaws are blown up into major indiscretions or when people refuse to overlook the faults and offenses of others, we end up burdened by the weight of guilt that we were never meant to carry. God, in His grace, sent Jesus to carry the burden for us. Those who receive Gods gift of grace have the privilege of offering it to others on Christs behalf: Above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).
Father God, the culture around us can seem so
harsh and hard on people when they fail. Help
me to show grace and patience, because You have
been gracious to me and have forgiven my sin.
When we gratefully acknowledge the grace weve received, we joyfully give it to those in need.
