Israel expected to accept Arab-backed truce
The Times of Israel ^ | Monday, July 14, 2014 | Itamar Sharon

US and Palestinian Authority also support ceasefire terms, but Hamas appears set to refuse the offer.

Israel was poised to accept on Tuesday an Arab League-backed ceasefire deal with Hamas which would go into effect in the evening, Israeli officials indicated Monday night, as the terrorist group signalled that it would refuse the deal

Israeli media sites quoted diplomatic sources suggesting that Jerusalem was inclining to accept the Egyptian proposal. Earlier, sources told The Times of Israel that “Those proposals are being considered very seriously.”

If the cabinet accepts the ceasefire, it would be doing so despite staunch opposition from many in the Israeli right, including Jewish Home party head Naftali Bennett, who say Israel must deal Hamas a heavy military blow before a truce can be considered.

But as the US, the Arab League and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas all welcomed the ceasefire proposal, Hamas appeared to reject the idea, with spokesman Fawzi Barhum saying the group would not accept a truce without a fully-fledged deal to end hostilities.

“A ceasefire without reaching an agreement is rejected. In times of war, you don’t cease fire and then negotiate,” he told AFP.

He said Hamas had not received any official proposal and that “the weapons of the resistance are a red line.”

Earlier, Hamas’s former prime minister Ismail Haniyeh said in a televised speech that “countries are intervening” to stop the bloodshed, and that Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal was involved in “diplomatic moves,” but did not elaborate.

France news and other news on twitter reporting Hamas refused it because they see it as ‘surrender’.

If Israel targeted Palestinian civilians in order to kill them and in order to get them to leave the country and force a mass migration of the population (which is exactly what the enemies of Israel claim it does) - then that would be a war crime.

If Israel targets Hamas operatives and Hamas buildings and war material, and avoid hitting Palestinian civilians (which is what Israel says it does and “does”) - then that is not a war crime.

The second of the two paragraphs is what Israel actually does and which the ENEMIES OF ISRAEL deny that they do. Also those who “feign support” for Israel also are the ones who urge Israel to commit war crimes (and Israel doesn’t listen to those “faux-supporters”).

...”The dance that has gone on for hundreds of years”....

Well Hamas won’t agree until the Arab nation leadership tells them they should. Palestinian issue is just the cannon fodder the Arab nations like to use.....and they sure as heck aren’t going to let Hamas have too much power which they can’t control.

Might be they’ll let Israel bomb away for awhile.....and we’ll hear the same old song about the woman and children being targeted and such that we always do.

The longer Gaza remains an independent region, the more people will die. That’s just a fact. Its not as if the people haven’t been given fair warning to flee. Everyone knows a larger war is coming.

Hamas is sending citizens to the roof tops of buildings Israel has made known they will bomb, telling them they are sacrificing themselves for their cause....so they also can claim Israel is striking civilians...and show photos of such.

Here's what one of Hamas leaders stated yesterday

Israel is aware of that and they avoid falling into the trap that Hamas tries to set for them.

Hamas locates rocket launchers in heavily populated areas, using citizens as human shields...the people in those houses know quite well Hamas and will fore rockets from their area.

Hamas also stores 'weapon caches' among the people. This is in Central Gaza Strip.

Some information here, too ...

Israel has hit over 1,000 Hamas targets in the last six days or so ... but even so ... it’s not as easy as one might think since Hamas has adjusted since the last incursion.

Either the Islamists accept near-humiliating terms, or they risk isolation and a stepped-up Israeli military assault

HAMAS was ex Egyptian President Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhoods baby.

They ain’t gonna get a whole lot of luvin’ from Egypt’s now President el -Sisi

Many rockets and terrorists’ weapons were
paid for by Obama and Kerry/Clinton/Huma to be used
against Americans and American allies.

The White House and Obama cheered
when an American boy was slaughtered.
It is HIS way (approved by the EXEMPT Congress).
