KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Separatist rebels in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk have denied that they are responsible for shooting down a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane.

No..this is a different plane, and the Seperatists mistook the plane for a Unkraine plane and claimed responsibility...they are considered terrorists. There were 23 Americans, and 80 were children of the 280 passengers and there were 15 employees. The plane was only crossing their airspace as it normally does from Amsterdam to Malyasia.

Seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there and we’ll never know an accurate answer.

The Russians are looking for a Casus Belli for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. No doubt they are going to try to create a “Reichstag Fire” to set it justification for such an invasion.

Why was it flying over a war zone? One would think that Malaysia would be a bit more careful about their airplanes. That is the second big hit to Malaysian Airlines in a year.

Many airlines had flights over this area, even at the exact time of the shoot-down.

Ukraine Separatist Leader Boasts Of Downing Plane

In a post on his VKontakte page, Russia's largest social media site, separatist leader Igor Girkin, aka Strelkov, wrote: "In the vicinity of Torez, we just downed a plane, an AN-26. It is lying somewhere in the Progress Mine. We have issued warnings not to fly in our airspace. We have video confirming. The bird fell on a waste heap. Residential areas were not hit. Civilians were not injured."
