I've asked the colleague to translate it. He surely knows Ukrainian since he has posted an Ukrainian item.

Apparently, the Ukraine Navy could not stop Russia from planting ‘mines’ because this action was “covered” by weapons.

I am sorry, but I am always afraid to stray to far from the more literal translation so as not to impair integrity of message. Ukraine/Russian structure of sentences differs from ours. Original language at link.

the more literal translation ... not to impair ... integrity of_message... _Ukraine/Russian structure

These numerous article mistakes show that your native language is Russian or Ukrainian. Probably it's another Slavonic one, I don't know. Well, I can do this job for you:

"Two Russian missile boats are providing cover for the minelaying operation"

According to the Geneva Conventions, like a blockade, mining a country’s harbors is an act of war.

mining a country’s harbors

The piece isn't about mining harbours, but about mining the waters adjacent to some gas platforms which Russia captured along with the Crimea. So Russia thinks the rigs are in its territorial waters. Ukraine considers the Crimean takeover an annexation, which is an act of war even more clearly than mining a harbour.

Thank you so much.
Anyone that follows my post knows I ALWAYS ask for any improvements of translations.

My role is to share the news as given to me to help share information allowing the public to be informed. Our MSM is frankly not to interested. Unfortunately, our news networks would rather keep us under informed by providing news on Hollywood, sports or just about ANYTHING else.
