The Secret Government Rulebook For Labeling You a Terrorist
The Intercept ^ | 23 Jul 2014, 2:45 PM EDT | By Jeremy Scahill and Ryan Devereaux

Posted on 07/23/2014 12:20:40 PM PDT by redreno

The Obama administration has quietly approved a substantial expansion of the terrorist watchlist system, authorizing a secret process that requires neither “concrete facts” nor “irrefutable evidence” to designate an American or foreigner as a terrorist, according to a key government document obtained by The Intercept.

The “March 2013 Watchlisting Guidance,” a 166-page document issued last year by the National Counterterrorism Center, spells out the government’s secret rules for putting individuals on its main terrorist database, as well as the no fly list and the selectee list, which triggers enhanced screening at airports and border crossings. The new guidelines allow individuals to be designated as representatives of terror organizations without any evidence they are actually connected to such organizations, and it gives a single White House official the unilateral authority to place “entire categories” of people the government is tracking onto the no fly and selectee lists. It broadens the authority of government officials to “nominate” people to the watchlists based on what is vaguely described as “fragmentary information.” It also allows for dead people to be watchlisted.

By their own definition, Ubama is a terrorist. Why aren’t they going after him?

It’s rude to call them ‘dead people’. The new term is ‘metabolically challenged persons’ or ‘persons with a metabolical impairment’.

Aside from their penchant for voting Democrat they’re just like everyone else.

I keep hearing this, but the fact is, people are too caught up in trying to survive day to day, paying mortgage, keeping their car running, paying bills in general, etc. that to do anything but would just be way too much sacrifice. That, and American Idol is on...why jeopardize it all? That is the kind of thinking that has led us to this point, at least.

This is why we must never give in to background checks for gun ownership.

I agree with you, which is why I value these ‘alerts’ even more. The foundations of a Civil War here in America have been carefully laid down over the decades since World War II. Today there are numerous, perhaps too numerous things to list or enumerate that could spark such a conflict.

But that doesn’t mean that they aren’t there. As for myself I firmly believe that if any such ‘Civil War’ were to occur it would not be one as simple as the war against the states of the 1860’s. No... today such a conflict would most appear to an outside observer as simple anarchy at first. A total free-for-all probably based in the search for food, but who knows that for sure?

The triggers for such a conflict as far as I am concern will fully rest upon the removal of one or more of the ‘legs’ that our civil society stands upon right now. They are:

A: Plentiful food.
B: Electricity for our highly electrified lifestyle including and especially the means of entertainment. TV, Video Games, Computers, the Internet, etc.
C: Loss of Freedom of Movement, especially to search out ‘A & B’
D: Gun Confiscation, You could still have ‘A, B & C’ but take away the personal right to own and bear arms for defense of yourself, family and loved ones, and you guarantee the loss of ‘A,B & C’.

Everything else in our society, can and is being chipped away at slowly but surely much like a piece of sandstone is washed away by running water. We are all suffering ‘Normalcy Bias’ in our daily lives. But take away any of these four Legs and we will collapse in Civil War in three days or less.

My wife and I both had our drivers licenses expire around the same time so we went to the DMV here in NH and we have to wait 60 days now before we get our new licenses because the TSA has to check us out first.

I renewed my license online the last time, which was less than a year ago. I’m not sure if it had expired. Was it the fact that yours had expired that caused the wait?

I actually had a letter that stated I could renew online but it didn’t work. My wife got a letter stating she wasn’t eligible to renew online. There was a statement on a TV that just stated we would get a 60 day temporary license while the TSA checked our information.

I don’t know. Metabolically challenged sounds racist to me.

Let’s call them “room temperature” people.

Or wait! “People of quietus.” Quietus means “dead.”

Which is why I laugh so hard at the tinnitus-relief commercials
for Quietus. It does not mean what they think it means.
