‘We shot down MH17 thinking it was Ukrainian cargo plane’: Sensational admission by pro-Russian
The Daily Mail Online ^ | July 24, 2014 | John Hall

A pro-Russian separatist fighting in eastern Ukraine has admitted rebel forces shot down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, it has been claimed.

The militant, who has not been identified, reportedly said fighters blasted the Boeing 777 out of the sky - killing all 298 people on board - after mistaking it for a Ukrainian government cargo plane.

He said the rebels only realised their mistake when they began searching the crash site for the parachutes of military crew who may have bailed out the aircraft, only to find the bodies of children.

The rebel - who worked locally as a miner before joining pro-Russian separatists - told a reporter for Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera that officers initially told him MH17 was a government plane. 'We shot down a Kiev plane, our superiors told us. We thought we were looking for baled-out Ukrainian pilots but instead we found dead civilians,' he was quoted as saying.

'All those poor people with baggage that certainly wasn’t military... I was looking for a parachute and found the body of a little girl,' he added.

His sensational admission that rebel forces shot down MH17 is in stark contrast to other pro-Russian forces in the area, who remain insistent that the plane was taken down by government troops.

This morning Alexander Borodai, prime minister of the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic, described evidence suggesting rebels had possession of a BUK missile launcher as 'fake'.

There’s no excusing Putler. Other reports say that Russia is actively shell, cannoning in their words, Ukrainian territory.

BTW, the miner is a dead man.

‘We shot down MH17 thinking it was Ukrainian cargo plane’: Sensational admission by pro-Russian”

Then you are a mass murderer.

This is what you get when you put sophisticated weapons in the hands of para-military half-wits! It's completely irresponsible and it IS calculated MURDER.

Early on there was a picture of miners walking through the shootdown site looking for some things -- he was probably one of them.

“I don’t know how people can excuse the new Stalin.”

Nor do I. At least one of the Russian thugs has a shred of decency. If the separatists had said, “We made a tragic mistake.” At the outset, they’d be in better shape. As it is, the appearance is that the thugs and their leader, Putin, don’t give a rat’s a$$ that innocent people were killed. They feel it ups their reputation.

This would have never happened if it was not for Putin. His insane grab for nothing more than a Hitler type mentality. This idiot has committed mass murder.

"‘We shot down MH17 thinking it was Ukrainian cargo plane’: Sensational admission by pro-Russian”. Then you are a mass murderer.

Do you have that short a memory, or a very selective memory, or are wearing blinders, or ???

The following will bring you and other low-information folks up to speed.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Iran Air Flight 655 was an Iran Air civilian passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai that was shot down by the United States Navy guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes on 3 July 1988. The attack took place in Iranian airspace, over Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf, and on the flight's usual flight path. The aircraft, an Airbus A300 B2-203, was destroyed by SM-2MR surface-to-air missiles fired from the Vincennes.

All 290 on board, including 66 children and 16 crew, died.[1] This attack ranks seventh among the deadliest disasters in aviation history, tenth if including the 9/11 attacks, which includes ground casualties; the incident retains the highest death toll of any aviation incident in the Persian Gulf and the highest death toll of any incident involving an Airbus aircraft anywhere in the world.[2] The Vincennes had entered Iranian territorial waters after one of its helicopters drew warning fire from Iranian speedboats operating within Iranian territorial limits.

According to the Iranian government, Vincennes negligently shot down the civilian aircraft: the airliner was making IFF squawks in Mode III (not Mode II used by Iranian military planes), a signal that identified it as a civilian craft, and operators of Vincennes mistook for Mode II.

According to the United States Government, the crew incorrectly identified the Iranian Airbus A300 as an attacking F-14A Tomcat fighter, a plane made in the United States and operated at that time by only two forces worldwide, the United States Navy and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. The Iranian F-14's at that time had no anti-ship capability.

The US Navy had claimed that the Vincennes was defending itself in international waters at the time of the incident. Later disclosures would prove that the Vincennes had entered into Iranian waters and initiated hostilities. This was a key fact that was left out of the public inquiry led by Admiral Fogarty.

The event generated a great deal of controversy and criticism of the United States. Some analysts have blamed U.S. military commanders and the captain of Vincennes for reckless and aggressive behavior in a tense and dangerous environment.

As of 1993, the United States had not apologized to Iran.[8] In 1996, the United States and Iran reached "an agreement in full and final settlement of all disputes, differences, claims, counterclaims" relating to the incident at the International Court of Justice, including an apology in the form of "...the United States recognized the aerial incident of 3 July 1988 as a terrible human tragedy and expressed deep regret over the Loss of lives caused by the incident...".[9] As part of the settlement, the United States did not admit legal liability but agreed to pay US$61.8 million, amounting to $213,103.45 per passenger, in compensation to the families of the Iranian victims.

Iran Air still uses flight number IR655 on the Tehran–Dubai route as a memorial to the victims.

So was Dutch responsible for that shoot down and a mass murderer?

This may prove original assertion: the crew that operated the 9K37 Buk battlefield SAM system was not properly trained to do identity friend or foe (IFF) detection before launching the missile. In short, the crew got too trigger happy and caused a horrible tragedy.

It makes no sense tome that anyone would expect a Ukrainian cargo plane to be at cruising altitude about to cross into Russian air space.

No excuse for the rebel triggerman and crew, up to top decision-maker. Arrest and death to a traitor before he commits yet another such act, before he discharges his weapon against constituted authority.
