The IDF determined on Friday that Givati Brigade soldier Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul died in battle, and defined him as "a soldier killed in action whose burial site is unknown."
In a statement, the IDF said that "prior to the decision, all the religious, medical and further relevant issues were taken into consideration."
"In light of this definition," the statement added, and "according to the Jewish religion, the family is not obligated to conduct a funeral, nor is the family obligated to sit through a 'Shiva,' the traditional mourning period of seven days."

The American people are the fools,
led by impostor Obama who sides with, and supports,
Hamas with weapons, money, and intel.
America, under the Tyrant, supports terrorists.
I hope that this brave soldier can at least be located so he could get the burial he deserves
The USA doesnt give money or arms to Hamas, but the USA does give humanitarian aid to the People there in Gaza through agencies, such as UNRWA who administers the programs.
And Israel, who controls the goods that go into Gaza (they have a blockade around Gaza) does let the goods that the USA sends in through UNRWA go through their checkpoints, as Israel has no problem with that.
What Israel doesnt let go through their checkpoints or past their blockade are arms and material for war going to Hamas.
US blocked Qatari funds intended for Hamas employee

The United States has blocked the transfer of Qatari funds earmarked for the salaries of civil servants hired by Hamas in Gaza, The Times of Israel has learned.
A diplomatic source in the Gulf state, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Qatar had transferred hundreds of millions of dollars to Arab Bank for the salaries of some 44,000 Hamas civil servants. Those civil servants employed by Hamas in Gaza since its takeover of the Strip in 2007 were rendered jobless by the unity agreement with Fatah last month.
But the money was never processed by Arab Bank and delivered to Hamas, the source told The Times of Israel, due to pressure from the Americans, who consider Hamas a terror organization.
This is strange, since funds from Qatar have never been blocked in the past, the source said, referring to the $400 million aid package pledged by Qatari ruler Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa during his visit to Gaza in October 2012.
Hamass deputy political bureau chief Moussa Abu Marzouk lambasted Arab Bank for neglecting to process the funds in comments posted on his Facebook page June 28.
Israel singles out Qatar as key Hamas terror sponsor

Gulf emirate is branded the villain behind Hamas belligerence, with PMs former security adviser saying it funds tunnel diggers and rocket launchers.
President Shimon Peres accused Qatar on Wednesday of becoming the worlds largest funder of terror due to its financial support for Hamas in Gaza.
Qatar does not have the right to send money for rockets and tunnels which are fired at innocent civilians, the outgoing statesman told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Jerusalem. Their funding of terror must stop. If they want to build then they should, but they must not be allowed to destroy.
Qatars recently attempted to transfer funds for the salaries of Hamas civil servants in Gaza, following the formation of a Palestinian unity government, but was blocked by the United States, which pressured the Arab Bank not to process them. But former national security adviser Maj. Gen. (res) Yaakov Amidror told The Times of Israel that the emirates funding for the organizations terror apparatus, including tunnel diggers and rocket launchers, has continued unabated.
I would hope so. I did read further in the article, though, that there are over a hundred others who are dead but buried in unknown places. I think they mean over the period of the existence of the IDF.
I hope that now that Israel has cut the gordian knot and is likely to press on to obliterate Hamas, that the US will stop its illegal funding of Hamas through multiple grants including its funding of the Palestinian Authority and the $47 million that John Kerry committed to them this week.

They probably have the body, they'll trade for that
Now, the 38% who STILL believe he's doing a good job are morons who truly are beyond redemption.
It’s not illegal finding to send aid to UNRWA for humanitarian help for the Palestinians in Gaza. You’ll notice that the Israeli Ambassador said in the UN Human Rights Council a couple of days ago that Israel is not against the residents in Gaza but they are against Hamas.
That’s why Israel lets through humanitarian aid to Gaza through their blockade. Israel stops arms and war ,atresia to Hamas, with their blockade, and not humanitarian goods to civilians in Gaza.
I dkn’t think that most Israelis object to Israel permitting the importation of foods and medicine and certain other basics into Gaza. Similarly, I hace seen no objections to Israel having set up a field hospital to treat Gazans at the border.
The US continues to fund the Palestinian Authority even after such funding became illegal with the organization of the Fatah-Hamas government. The US forced Israel to permit importation of 600 million tons of Nesher Cement Company’s concrete into Gaza, which was used to build the terror tunnels.
There has been no accounting for the materials funnelled into Gaza through UNRWA. As is the Obama Administration’s method of operation elsewhere, it is twisting the stated purpose of UNRWA aid to launder assistance to Hamas.
The funding to the Palestinian Authority has been blatantly illegal since April of this year. One could argue that the aid to UNRWA is illegal in the absense of a means to prevent the laundering of money and supplies, including dual-purpose supplies like the Nesher Cement, in order to get it to Hamas in contravention of the ban.
May he rest in peace.
Amen!
My condolensces, to the family, and to the State of Israel, from a fellow military veteran, and long time supporter.
