Israel has evidence that almost half of Palestinians killed in Operation Protective Edge were combatants, its deputy foreign minister said on Saturday.

Also note that a not inconsiderable number of Arabs have been killed by Hamas and other terrorist groups, either due to faulty or misdirected rockets, RPGs etc or executed/murdered in response to protests against the Hamas. In all it may well be less than 50% collateral damage by the IDF, which is absolutely incredible.
PING!
Of course that also means that over half were not—”collateral damage”.
and about 53% were terrorist enablers.
Word to the people of Gaza-Next time choose a better government if you don’t want to get bombed.
Yes, your math is correct, but you need some context.
“In fact, my judgments about the steps taken in that conflict by the IDF to avoid civilian deaths are inadvertently borne out by a study published by the United Nations itself, a study which shows that the ratio of civilian to combatant deaths in Gaza was by far the lowest in any asymmetric conflict in the history of warfare.
The UN estimate that there has been an average three-to one ratio of civilian to combatant deaths in such conflicts worldwide. Three civilians for every combatant killed.
That is the estimated ratio in Afghanistan: three to one.
In Iraq, and in Kosovo, it was worse: the ratio is believed to be four-to-one. Anecdotal evidence suggests the ratios were very much higher in Chechnya and Serbia.
In Gaza, it was less than one-to-one.”

IOW, 47 percent would never vote for Bibi — and from now on, not for anyone else, either. Thanks ScaniaBoy.
Perhaps a fifth of all Arabs killed have been killed by Hamas’ missiles. About three percent have been killed by Hamas through more direct means. ALL the rest have been killed either because they’re combatants, or because they were prevented from leaving by Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
I love a good success story!!!!
There’s that 47% again...
The number is off by at least half.
There are Pali’s in GAza that ARE NOT terrorists?..
WHO SAYS?..
Pali’s are brain washed from toddlers to accept the murder of ALL JEWS.. and most christians..
Who is innocent of it?... that has not been murdered by their own family?.. YET?.
If you mean about 65 - 70% of the killed are terrorists you may be still be right. I saw one piece in the Algemeiner.com a few days ago where an Israeli official mentioned 1000 killed terrorists. Given the total at that time of ca 1500, the ratio would be 2:1 combatants:collaterals.
The ratio would be even higher if the Hamasholes didn’t use human shields.

Meanwhile, the toll of potential Israeli citizen deaths from Hamas rockets continues to rise. The toll recently passed the 100,000 mark and now stands at 104,720.
Had the thousands of Hamas rockets struck the densely populated Israeli targets the death toll would have been 104,720. The Iron dome and poor aim prevented the genocidal scale death toll.
And wouldn’t the rest of the World have been happy if that had come to pass....no, actually they wouldn’t be, because the Israeli government, and the IDF would never have allowed it to happen.
If the Iron Dome hadn’t been available, there wouldn’t have been a building standing in Gaza today. Chechnya would have been a humantarian operation in comparison, but Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other terror groups in Gaza would have been a bad memory, only.
The simile of war as brain surgery - “surgical strikes”, etc, etc - is absurd.
What is Israel’s goal here? Is it not to make Hamas surrender and then to submit to whatever the victor requires?
IN order to do THAT, Israel had better start killing the inhabitants of Gaza faster and in a more exemplary way.
There’s that 47% number, again.
Is it a universal good/evil constant, like “e” or “pi” are in mathematics?
