I have no:
tattoos
piercings
jewelry
swagger
ethnic, sagging, political, snarky or hip-hop clothing
weird haircut
facial tics
propensity to swear
But I was robbed of my cash by the SFPD on the sidewalk during a routine stop.
Bad cops are out there —WATCH OUT.
If this can happen to me, it can happen to you, 100%.
This falls under:
If the fries aren’t hot, you will get shot,,,
Probation without personal protection while everybody around knows who he is and where he is and what he did... methinks he would need to be more watchful than the average crook.
He was having a Mac attack.
Thanks for telling us. The article only says he is on ten year probation. I had figuratively thrown my hands up about justice being done. Good to know sometimes the logical thing is what actually happens.
I might ask him if he wants me to call the cops (badoom tish)
See post # 39.
"During his plea hearing, the former detective told the judge of his 25-year battle with mental illness, including major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress, major anxiety disorder and suicidal tendencies. He said his treatment included serious medications and even electroshock therapy."

So why wasn't he terminated 25 years ago??? Difficult to believe his supervisors and everyone around him didn't realize if he was bat**** crazy.
Well, it would be a shocker if the cad was allowed to keep on being a cop, and usually gun laws are pretty draconian about things like this (the silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud).
I suppose he could be a mall cop or other unarmed security guard.
An oversized purse is capable of carrying quite a few of those red cobblestone type bricks. It’s like having a purse full of plutonium it is.
How did someone like that ever get to leak onto the force? I think his former colleagues would be torn between pitying him and being furious at him.
While this fellow avoided jail-time, he lost his career. Whether he lost his pension, too, seems to be unreported, which suggests, using your metric, that he has not. I'll let you ferret out that nugget and report back, if you will.
It’s probably the police union that would weigh the heaviest in that consideration. My guess... if he otherwise qualifies by the letter of the contract, he gets it. The unions won’t brook playing around with that, even for the sake of principle.
But another thing could come into play... it’s virtually certain that the one he menaced will sue both him and the department. Might need that pension in order to pay the judgment or settlement. Might as well go to the one he menaced.
You’re probably correct, but we don’t actually know because of the execrable reporting. So you’re left to speculate.

If the cop came from behind the vehicle and ran around to the other side it still doesn't make sense.
What did the kid do? He was just waiting at the drive-thru window.
Shouldn't the cop be mad at the McDonald's staff for being slow?
And yes, it's LONG past time that police unions are held responsible for their member's actions.
They should not have it both ways.
This guy should be fired, prosecuted, and lose his pension.
It might make some rotten cops think twice before acting like out of control thugs.
The taxpayers should not be on the hook for unnacceptable actions of psychos.
No he did not ... or he would have pulled the trigger.
Ah, but have we heard from the union yet .... all this will change shortly to back to duty or retired with a disability!
“And if a non-cop had pointed a gun at the teens, would he also have gotten probation?”
Eventually...after ten years. But I think that is called parole. Did this even reach the level of felony so that the piglet lost any hope of police work and owning a gun?
