Suicide just seals your ticket to hell quicker.

No actually only one thing does that. The complete rejection of Jesus Christ which is not as such suicide. It happens to even the staunchest of believers.

The man was severely mentally ill at least some of it was likely not self inflicted illness such as his being BiPolar. Mental illness can drive persons to do drastic measures to themselves. Many of those fortunate enough not to have it likely can not understand. Pills don't cure all and in some cases pills can push a person over the edge even with mild depression and they not even be conscious of their actions. IOW the meds can possible be a contributing factor even though necessary to treat the illness.

One who considers and attempts suicide is mentally ill whether they succeed or not. They are not as such responsible for their actions. It's a terrible way to go I grant you that as it affects others in the persons life.

Jesus while hanging on the cross put their by the Romans at the insistence of the Jewish religious leaders looked down upon the ones who put Him there and said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". Suicide is not a rational thought it is pain driven. A pain as real as the most harsh of cancers. Rather than pass judgement it might be wiser of folk to say By the Grace of GOD it wasn't themselves or their family.

I hope that you are wrong, and that God forgives those who despair.

And provides healing for those that are sick.

It wasn’t two days ago I said to my husband, we need to get Mrs. Doubtfire, the kids will love that!

I know in light of all that’s going on the world (and when isn’t it?) a performer’s death isn’t really all that important. Especially to me, a conservative and one who tries to eschew all the “celebrity” trash in our culture. But I can’t help it - this makes me sad.

That abyss can be alluring if you listen to it.

You ain't kidding. It tries to lure you in like a siren. I still struggle with it. Some days I'm fine, but it can come upon me very quickly. July 31st was my last really bad day. Thankfully that particular time only lasted a day.

I’m so sorry. My sister died in April, and although we know that she passed away due to injuries suffered from a fall off of a railroad overpass, we will never know what caused her to fall. It’s very difficult to accept.

Great scene, even though we have to see Matt Damon. Robin was more than a comedian.

Anti-depressants usually cause one to do harm to others, not one’s self. (every mass shooter has been on them)

I loved the scene in Good Morning Vietnam when the soldiers on their way to battle, stop him, and he gives an impromptu performance, and right at the end, he tells them “Be careful up there”, knowing they were about to go into Hell.

May not help much. I can never understand such pain. But know that you are loved. That’s what I tell my daughter.

That movie was interesting but kind of strange

Like I said, everyone has different taste. People can believe a man can fly ("Superman") and it's not strange. But "What Dreams May Come" really explored the pathos of depression and suicide, the wife doing it because of her children's deaths. That seems more relevant than a thousand other fantasy movies. But yes, the way it was presented was very strange, perhaps in order to not be too depressing by offering shocking screenplay. Anyway, I didn't care for his comedy but preferred his dramatic roles.
