I'm not saying some people are not healed by Divine healing. But even among the strongest of faith many simply are not. Case in point? Joni Erickson Tada. If faith, belief, and love, could cure she'd be dancing. GOD had other plans for her after her injury.

GOD for His own reasons allows us to have afflictions which show His strengths through our weaknesses. Adversity being His tempering fire.

Mental health issues vary as to cause. Some can be traumatic events like PTSD or phobias. Some can derive from brain chemistry being deprived or saturated with too much or too little a chemical. It can come from neurotransmitter disorders. It can even come from a Urinary Tract Infection or Inner Ear Infection.

It's not the persons sins, lack of faith, or GOD is angry or displeased with the person etc. Bipolar can come from genetics and can be passed down, it can also come from substance abuse which is becoming more common.

Most mental illness except usually for the far more serious types are secondary {symptoms actually} of a primary physical disorder. You go tell a Shrink that Inner Ear Disorders can give you Anxiety and he will say you're nuts. You go tell an older General Practitioner the same thing and he'll likely say Yeap seen it a few times. And of course there is misdiagnoses all together.

Yes Jesus Christ can heal. However if healing is not granted the person afflicted should not be made to feel it was their fault a bearing guilt they should not be carrying. Remember Paul's affliction he prayed to be taken away? No one knows for certain what it was maybe partial blindness since many of his letters were written by persons he dictated them too. In that respect one passage does point to that as he talks about his own handwriting. Paul was an educated man.

Free Republic has always been heavily laden with posters who think they are arbiters of what’s in the Bible or can interpret Gods word best.

I’ve always bristled at that

Young posters here don’t remember that back when America was admittedly a better place we were nonetheless overrun with the holier than though finger pointers

People have fallen away from organized religion obviously but the high and mighty still exist today in the form of the most politically correct who now worship the earth, animals, goddesses and diversity and any culture or race but their own

They aggravated me then and still do now.....same kinds of people....new God(s)

Miss.

This is Free Republic.

The nasty here pollute everything.....they must be real fun at Thanksgiving

I was driving around 5CDT this afternoon.....rural hwy middle TN

My wife texts this news to me

I stopped for gas.....checked FR.....it had just hit.....maybe 15 posts on a thread

I quickly posted decent words and remarked how long till the caustic remarks destroy these threads

And I wasn’t wrong.....

Ive learned after 14 years there are a lot of posters here you would not want to know in the real world....just mean people that enjoy playing hardass to a predominately cat lady audience.....no offense please.

You did good....a voice of decency and manners

God bless u

Nobody WANTS to be full of despair and hopelessness to the point of suicide

He was little boy once with hopes and dreams just like me.....and he realized them.....I think.....but the black dog and intoxicants just rurnt him

Sad.

Wouldn’t have figured it.....

His last show was occasionally amusing, but mostly the laughs were in the outtakes which were shown as the episodes rolled credits.

Shocking. RIP. He always seemed like he had an undercurrent of sadness to me, like so many comedians.

I guess Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is a no go.

To those that have never lived with depression, they don’t understand. I know it very well.

I always thought Jonathon Winters was brilliant. I did see how some folks could be put off, but I appreciated his humor.

I never ran into Levant to my knowledge.

BTW: Winters was a known manic depressive.

I agree about Winters.

I pretty much agree with your comments about Williams too.

There are times in life when humans go through an amazing amount of pain. Nobody but the individual knows the demons they face 1/1000th as intimately as they do. And yet they’ll judge as if they know everything. The more they use this approach, the more they prove how little they know.

It’s easy for folks to dismiss the person who comes to the conclusion additional life isn’t worth living. I am convinced that for some people it truly isn’t.

I do not believe suicide is protected Biblically, so ultimately I don’t think God forgives it. That’s my take on it. He may. It’s not for me to say. It’s a choice the person in pain needs to evaluate for themselves.

There’s a lot to be said about a person perhaps feeling down for a period, then feeling better and going on to live a great subsequent life. Sometimes that isn’t in the cards.

Sometimes the happy moments we want from these people, are more important to us than the hell they may be living through. I am not glad Williams is gone. I am ultimately glad his pain has ended.

I came on this thread today and said I needed to vacate. I have a visceral disgust with people who support Leftists for public office, despite what they may do otherwise in their personal life. In doing so, I may have been very unfair to Williams.

Williams made many people happy with his humor and his dramatic roles. He evidently spent a lot of time entertaining our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. He went to VA hospitals. He was a big supporter of the Wounded Warriors program. He advocated on these people’s behalf. When Christopher Reeves was down and out, Williams stepped in to pay his medical bills. Many people are coming forward to mention kind things he went out of his way to do for them. These many times were things he didn’t have to do. He did them just to pump the other person up, or make their experience in life better. Nobody seems to have anything bad to say about the guy. That’s a massive achievement in it’s own right.

I felt that I should come back and set the record straight even if it does conflict with my first thoughts after hearing he had passed away.

The guy’s heart was unquestionably in the right place on many many occasions. A person like that should be heralded for their better self.

I would be less than I should be, if I didn’t recognize in Robin Williams qualities that all of us should be proud to emulate.

I saw him on Carson one night, and he was almost levitating he was so up. He was so up he couldn’t turn it off, and in people like him there is a danger. If you’re on, you can get away with anything. If you lose it, you have to be perceptive enough to back off. That night he didn’t realize he’d lost it. It was very painful to watch for about ten minutes.

That’s the price you pay for being on the cutting edge of ad-lib comedy. You can be positively amazing one appearance, and positively flat the next.

I only saw one negative appearance on Carson, and he was pretty much universally appreciated.

I suspected as you did. I loved some of his dramatic roles also.

Exactly. He was also a big marketer of deviance as shown by the roles he played and supported.

If it was suicide then it was a cowardly act. Like an abortion.””

Indeed, a cowardly act giving not a thought for those he deserted to feel the pain he was too pathetic to deal with like a man.

Bo and Williams are both left wing maniacs. Robin was nothing but an overpaid entertainer. Stop attacking a Freeper, he is our brother. Robin hated us but gladly took our money.

Seems he had the common traits. Self medication with booze and drugs, broken relationships, deep depression and turn on a dime highs, financial nuttiness at certain times, suicides when you see the next stage about to come is not uncommon. Hard to live with for normal people, they can’t relate at all to how your mind works. Sometimes it feels like you are a 100 watt bulb in a 40 watt world.
