In a July 8, 2014 interview with Egypt's Channel 1, Egyptian political scientist Ammar Ali Hassan said that the Jews had stolen Egypt's gold and treasures when they left ancient Egypt. The character of Shakespeare's Shylock is "a replica of the Jew who lived in Egypt – a merchant and a loan shark," he said, adding: "We demand that they return the treasures they stole from us."
Following are excerpts:
Ammar Ali Hassan: The Jews wanted [Egypt] to pay them compensation to the tune of dozens of billions of dollars, although our economy is very hard off. More importantly, they wanted to establish their false claim to historical rights over Egyptian lands.
We know for a fact that Moses was in this land. Most of the Jews who left Egypt to wander in the Sinai Desert were the Jews who defied Moses and rejected his preachings. When they left, they stole Egypt's gold and treasures.
Many of the studies on Jewish financial conduct in the history of Egypt, as well as in the history of humanity as a whole... Take, for example, the character of Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice," by Shakespeare. This character is a replica of the Jew who lived in Egypt – a merchant and a loan shark, who deposits his profits abroad, instead of investing them in the country. This is why the Jews have plundered this country all the time – beginning with the theft of Egypt's gold in the days of Moses and culminating in what they did to our economy prior to the 1952 revolution.

Get real, this gold (if any was left) was long gone, stolen by the Assyrians, Babylonians, his Egyptian ancestors as well as the Greeks, Romans and Muslim Empires, and possibly Crusaders..

I agree with this...if the Egyptians can provide an inventory of their lost property. And if the ARE can prove continuity with the pharaonic regime.

My understanding of the Hebrew's Old Testament records is that the Egyptians were encouraging a hasty departure by paying the Hebrews to leave and leave quickly.
I also understand the Egyptians later reconsidered their decision but it did not work well for them.

Fine. Then pay the Jews for all the years they were slaves. THEY were owed the gold for slavery and God made sure they were paid.

America has some free black citizens seeking reparations for less than 80 years of slavery some of their black ancestors suffered under in the 16 States who sanctioned slavery.
Hard to be a good navigator in the vast wasteland of a desert. Everything looks the same.
But, that was not the point of the story in the Bible.
The premise was that the 'tribes' were 'lost' because they kept walking in a circle around the same mountain.
They were 'stiff-necked'. This meant they didn't turn their head to notice that the same mountain was over the same shoulder all the time. The point was that they were STUBBORN and refused to listen. They didn't even want to listen to Moses. They blamed HIM for their own stubborn ignorance.
These folks are nuts!
Makes about as much sense as black reparations.
