Members of the Islamic State, a violent group of extremists presently terrorizing Iraq and Syria, have released a video threatening President Vladimir Putin and vowing to wage war in Russia's restive North Caucasus. A Message to Putin
A video released by Al Arabiya and reportedly filmed in a seized airport in the Syrian province of Raqqa features an Islamic State fighter seated in a military jet, saying: "This message is for you, Vladimir Putin! These are the aircraft you sent to Bashar [Assad], and we're going to send them to you. Remember that!"

The Russians will put those rabid dogs down in an instant.
No. Not if history is a guide.
Back in 1985 four Russian diplomats were abducted by Hezbollah. One, Arkady Katkov, was killed. The Russian's responded by kidnapping and killing the leader of Hezbollah's nephew. The three remaining Russian diplomats were released. The Russians did not wipe out Hezbollah, the hostage crises in Lebanon continued until 1992, and Hezbollah thrives to this day.
In 2006 four Russian diplomats were kidnapped in Iraq. The diplomats were all killed, three beheaded with one filmed. Putin vowed to locate and kill the kidnappers. In fact the kidnappers were later located (captured or killed) but by the Americans.

Dumb bastards. The Russian bear hasn’t changed any so it seems the sons of pig f’n dogs may learn the meaning of the “Don’t poke the bear” story. They seem to think that because they drove the Soviets out of Afghanistan that they can push them back on their own territory. Hitler made the same mistake.
The bastard fascist Kenyan won’t do anything significant other than leave it to our adversary to take care of the problem.

What’s likely to happen here is that the sheer force will bring the ISIS down, but ISIS will take down a whole lot of people with them, via collateral damage. Given the capacity of a militant to infiltrate a mainstream society posing as a regular joe, well, that means that some damaging effects such as a “repeat 9/11” event may very well happen in numerous nations.

Russia may be limited in how far it pushes. It’s very possible to push the easy theater of operations from one region to another. If it’s hard in one place, well, find another easy target. This is likely going to ultimately decimate a soft target in the Middle East, where you have a mix of Islamic sects, and a perfect set up for Civil War in a lot of places, since many nations have large major sects (Shiite, Sunni, etc.).

And that was all they did. Hardly amounts to “wiping them out.”

ISIS/ISIL/IS would be far more likely to get “nuke” technology from the Pakistanis (who already have woking nuclear weapons) than from the Shi’ia Iranians.

What makes you think Russia wants Iran to have nuclear weapons?I though Putin was cooperating with the US to prevent this.

I don’t disagree with your logic, but once this technology is out there, it’s basically going to be a free for all IMO. One group will need funds and they’ll sell parts of it. You may have a guy who isn’t as loyal to your group as you think. There are a number of ways this information spirals out of control once it’s provided for any terrorist group.

Russians are very serious about threats to the Rodina and I would expect them to do some serious a** kicking just like they did during The Great Patriotic War.

He’s fought us every step of the way as we tried to reign in Iran’s nuclear development program. China did as well. Russia provided help building nuclear power plants. It then provided cover as Iran started using centrifuges to refine materials to the point they weren’t useful for anything much other than nuclear weapons.
He would not cooperate with us at the U.N. He seemed to relish his image more than his own neck, and the lives of his people.

Russia is allied with Iran, but when they helped China develop nuclear power, China applied that “help” to develop its own nuclear weapons. Russia has been extremely cautious ever since.

Nope!
Putin might do the same as the Russian Leader did during the Iranian Hostage Situation during Mr. Peanut's Misery.
That Russian Leader had some of the Iranian Terrorists Leaders (so called "Students") rounded up, flown to Russian, given sex-change operations, mailed their "frozen organs" back to Iran, and told the Terrorists,"If you want your leaders back, free the Russian Hostages".
The Iranians IMMEDIATELY released the Russians.
But Putin might have the ISSI's Leaders given heart change operations, and give them a pig's heart and a pig's sex organs.
John Wayne said it best.
