High court denies gay marriage appeals [legal immediately in IN, OK, UT, VA and WI]

he Supreme Court has turned away appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriages, paving the way for an immediate expansion of gay and lesbian unions.

The justices on Monday did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The court's order immediately ends delays on marriage in those states. Couples in six other states should be able to get married in short order.

That would make same-sex marriage legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia.

But the justices have left unresolved for now the question of same-sex marriage nationwide.

IIRC, Roberts did not vote to dissect DOMA. That was Kennedy.

If the US doesn't want them to conduct business the way they choose, then why not become a weight on that government?

Why not have a tax revolt were everybody refuses to pay or file another tax return?

Starve the beast and tell them to go eff themselves!

Count 1 of “I consider myself an enemy of The United States” was abortion. Count 2 is...this. I might have forgotten some.

Not every time. Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington didn’t do it in the last election.

The intentions of the LGBT activists are to get payback from anyone or anything that stands in their way including institutions they believe have wronged them.

I saw a news story in my local paper making noise about the fact that some Baptist church with the name “Bible” attached to it (a very conservative church) was not allowing a gay parishioner to take communion.

This fellow had announced to the church he was gay and then announced it to the media which published a story.

Seriously, the LGBT activists see themselves as the new “Civil Rights Movement” and anyone or anything including religious institutions that don’t accept their sexuality or gay marriage are defined as KKK bigots.

For any institution to oppose them means that institution is the equivalent of “racist” and that means media and government power will be called upon along with street demonstrations and other intimidation tactics to force churches to change.

The legalization of gay marriage puts us on a pathway to tyranny with opponents of homosexuality and gay marriage getting full demonization and marginalization.

When Brendan Eich was forced to get out a business he was involved in because he had given money to support Prop 8 in California he was getting the treatment people in 1933 Germany got because they were Jews.

LGBT activists are very hurt people but revenge isn’t a solution to their pain.

These activists may not wear the jackboots and brown shirt that a gay man named Ernst Rohm did in early 1930’s Germany, but they are surely emulating his tactics....high tech 21st Century fascism?

They should have ANnALed those rullings. I wonder how this affects equal protection under the tax laws for single and married people. Seems to me it is not equal protection under the law to have a separate class based on whether one is married.

Actually, that’s what the courts are supposed to do, when the will of the people is in conflict with the constitution. The court has struck down gun laws that were in conflict with the Second Amendment. I think most of us agreed with that.

The real question is, are the courts correct in saying that banning gay marriage is contrary to the Constitution.

65 It is time for Christians of America to think spiritually. This is a flawed world and America has chosen to reject God. It is the normal scheme of things in the history of the human world. I love this nation’s founding, but it is no more. Time to cling to the Lord and pray for the souls of those in the middle and our children. America is dying.

I came to that realization in SEP 2008 right after the financial crisis. It has only gotten worse in the 6+ years since.

We have to realize that both big government and big business are the problem with respect to the social issues.

Not paying taxes might hurt the government.

Not working hurts both the government and big business.

That Italian communist from the 1930s nailed it - "long march through the institutions">

churches
academia - colleges 1st (especially law schools and liberal arts) and then down into public schools
political parties
non-profit foundations
big business
government

Oh just like our "right never be be forced to pay for any abortion, which I consider to be pre-meditated murder, of another?"

Obama and Obamacare removed that "right" from me, just like the Supremes took away the right for a business owner to engage or not, in business with whomever they choose, nope, that "right" no longer exists.

How about my "right of me and some of my pro-life friends," to go near any abortion clinic and merely pray for those innocents savagely slaughtered inside, nope, I'm only allowed to "offer up prayers" where no one can see or hear me, according to the Supremes.

How about private property rights, any government can take your property and sell it to another, if that government believes they could get more tax dollars from someone else than you, or if someone or group pretends that an animal or insect walked across your property, you no longer can do anything with it as you wish!

Now for our vaunted First Amendment rights, ever heard of anyone uttering, God Bless You to another, being told they may not utter such "offensive words," or any Christian closing a prayer in the name of Jesus and being told that must stop, yet the "rights" of others to scream, "Allah Akbar (Allah is Great) while either shooting or cutting off heads, hey, no religious offense here, move along, nothing to notice, it's his First Amendment right to utter those words while savagely killing others as "Workplace Violence?"

Not only is anyone involved in granting "marriage licenses" not granted a religious exemption from doing so, but now each and every pastor who desires to keep his/her license, must perform these pagan ceremonies for sosomites, or be left without that license.

Easy enough to walk away from that license but what about one's First Amendment?

Actually, it's going to a pleasure to "suffer persecution for His Name," for He was persecuted and killed for our sin and He told us, if we take up our cross and follow Him, we are to expect persecution, so now it is clear, our time is coming soon.

Sodom and Gommorah anyone?

If you think the left and gay lobby has gotten what they wanted, you are mistaken. Unfortunately, now, lawsuits will begin against Protestant and Catholic and Jewish temples who do not believe in such gay “marriage”. IRS and other federal bodies will come down on churches. This is where the real persecution starts. Gay couples will be set up by leftist lobbies to try to bankrupt those churches and denominations who refuse to perform a gay “marriage” in their church. Mark my words. As Rush says, don’t doubt me on this.

“Its up to God to restore the natural order of things.”

Restoration will only come if mankind humble themselves, REPENT, and turn from their wicked ways. The world is not doing this, but instead are paving the way for the entrance of the “Son of Perdition”.

What gave you the impression that *this* was not the next progressive step in the process?

Once we lost have a Constitutional Republic, then a representative democracy, then our (current?) ‘banana republic’....Why the cries of anguish for the oligarchy of 9?
