Tea party favorite Allen B. West was named Friday to be the new CEO of the National Center for Policy Analysis, a Dallas think tank that has focused on market-based solutions for health care and tax and fiscal policy.
West, 53, is a former Republican congressman from Florida and a retired Army lieutenant colonel. He is expected to boost donations to the think tank, which sagged after the forced departure of founding CEO John Goodman in June.
Since leaving Congress in 2013, West has been a commentator on Fox News, a blogger and a fundraiser for conservative veteran and minority candidates. In his latest blog, West questioned whether the Obama administration allowed in young immigrants who brought enterovirus-68.
What if the Obama administration policy of allowing an influx of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants into America this summer and subsequently dispersing them was ... in effect a form of biological warfare?(continued)

I agree with you and hope this job is a stepping stone or a resume enhancer..
I have to agree.
I worked for a man once that was extremely intelligent and a great leader. I asked him once why he didn’t run for some office. His answer...”Why would I do that? It’s a losing proposition.” But he did influence politics in a different and positive way.

In my long career in education I KNEW that I would never, ever want to be an administrator or in charge of ANYone. I did a lot of planning and curriculum work and was MY boss's A-1, go-to person but BE IN CHARGE?
Never.
Part of being in charge was dealing with the pride, egos, whiney-ness, spoiled-bratiness and sloth of others. The whiners, etc., were only 1% of everyone but they would have annoyed me to no end. I would have had a tendency to be a bit...harsh.
I preferred to work where I could do the most good. And I did and I was successful. We instructors were rated by students. I always got outstanding reviews.
