New York City under Ebola virus siege: 357 citizens being monitored for possible symptoms

New York City citizens right now are probably living cautiously as the city has featured in the news quite a lot when it comes to the Ebola virus.

Ever since Dr. Craig Spencer, who arrived back home after treating patients in West Africa, was found to have the virus, the city is unable to catch a break.

New reports indicate that 357 residents in the city are being watched closely to help stop the spread of the disease by catching an infection in its early stages. The effort is part of a massive nationwide effort to slow and stop the spread of Ebola.

It's not easy for health officials to monitor this amount of persons, and it is not easy for those affected, either. Still, one needs to understand that the Ebola virus is very deadly, and doctors and scientists alike must do what is necessary to gain more information that could save lives and prevent a nationwide spread in the future.

How can this be? I thought the calls for monitoring and quarantine were all just ignorant, right-wing hysteria and that no one in America was at any risk for getting it.

Mainstream media was under strict orders to not further report on ebola until after the midterm elections.
Needless to say, a friendly IRS agent with a microscope would have further assisted journalists who opted to publish otherwise.

Well, hysteria can be a bad thing, especially with politically motived right-wing concern freaks. I think we should just all step back and take stock of ourselves and “just wash our hands.” /s

Good timing for EbolaGate Obama re the release of this data.

What more will we find out that ABCNNBCBS and the New York Slimes didn’t tell America about until the election was over. Shades of Benghazi again.

I have a fever ... monitor me ...

Etc., etc.

Slow news day.

The article says all of those in NYC being monitored are “citizens.” Not “people,” not “patients,” not “citizens” and “aliens,” but all full-fledged “citizens” Investigative journalism at its best, 2004 style. Well, maybe they are all, every one of them, potential citizens if Obama uses his dictator pen, as threatened.

Could you just imagine the goons that would be dispatched to "have a conversation" with writers who don't report as they are directed?

Gee, thank you for speaking to us like three-year-olds … we wouldn't have known how serious the situation was until you told us. If I wasn't so obviously ignorant, I'd ask why things got to this point in the first place ;?

I’ll be interested in seeing how many of these folks actually show symptoms.

IMO this Ebola carapola is just another false flag that did not work out. Otherwise we should have at least a hundred or more active cases right now.

Not a peep about this today on any of the news networks.

Why the suppression of ebola news all of a sudden?

From when this news first came out, days go, when the implication was some could be aliens:

"357 individuals are being actively monitored, representing travelers from Ebola afflicted countries as well as hospital staff who cared for the latest Ebola patient, Dr. Craig Spencer, at Bellevue Hospital. "

Yes, but those who repackaged the news changed “individuals” to “citizens.” Perhaps just a thoughtless error, perhaps not.
