Now, it’s time to watch republicans, once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Repub governorships: Fla, Tx, Ill, Ohio, Mich, Wisconsin, NC, GA, Massachusetts.

Maryland governorship was a very significant loss of Dems. Should be on the list. Not a huge electoral state but this was a crushing defeat in a deep blue state.

How can the Democrats stop the continuing destruction of their party?

If the Democratic Senators facing reelection in 2016 continue to support Obama and ObamaCare, they will suffer the same miserable fate as Mary Landrieu and her defeated colleagues.

But does anyone doubt that most of the Democratic Senators in the new Congress WILL in fact continue to support the poisonous Obama and his toxic policies?

The people who drank the Reverend Jim Jones’s poisoned Kool-Aid at least believed they were going to a better place. On the other hand, the Democrats who continue to drink Obama’s poisoned potions know they will destroy their careers. But will they try to save themselves and their party by refusing to follow Obama’s road to hell? It’s very doubtful.

now they just need to split up those 100% dem areas- differently so that 10% of the population does not control 100% of the presidential races

Doesn’t california have SOME GOP areas??? They control something like 57 electoral college votes- how can that be?

Ark and Ill (Clinton hometowns) have Repub governors---important in a prez race b/c guvs control party machinery.

I know nothing about Arkansas' new republican governor but Illinois new "republican governor is liberal/democrat to the core. No difference whatsoever between him and outgoing democrat governor Quinn.

Democrats now understand the cost of socialism and when they vote for the party and not the people.

Anything that can be lost in 6 years can be regained. 100 year majority? Don’t think so.

If the R’s do amnesty, the voting box may morph into the cartridge box next time around.

It’s the biggest issue in the country right now among plain old voters - stopping amnesty.

GOP interprets this the wrong way, it may very well be over. It wasn’t their ideas that won the day - I’ll tell you that.

It happened to the D’s. Schumer was dead right - nobody wanted Obamacare, and further, nobody needed it.

What they NEEDED was tort reform, and FDA reform, to bring down the cost of medical care. Had the D’s done that, the trend may have been the opposite, and they’d be listing those stats about the GOP.

America is steadily growing more conservative because they have more children than collectivists who either have very few or nor or simply kill them in utero.

And as the collectivists lose more and more ground in the minds of Americans they just end up getting nuttier and nuttier as their ship sinks further into the water.

I look forward to seeing the demise of collectivism in my lifetime!

When I read these stories I recall a phone conversation in @ 1986 with a young man running as a Republican for the Senate from Arkansas . He spoke of AR and TN being the last 2 states in the South not to have a R Senator. He lost that election. Today he is Governor-elect of fully-Republican AR. The pendulum swings.
