Darren Wilson may have resigned from the Ferguson Police Department, but a group of attorneys wants the controversial officer stripped of his right to carry a badge anywhere in Missouri.
In a nine-page petition, the National Bar Association — the country’s oldest and largest group of African American attorneys and judges — asks the Missouri Department of Public Safety to revoke Wilson’s law enforcement license.
Last month, a St. Louis grand jury declined to indict Wilson, who is white, for the Aug. 9 fatal shooting of unarmed black teen Michael Brown. A federal civil rights investigation continues, but the likelihood of charges being brought is slim, since Wilson has testified he was in fear for his life at the time of the shooting.

I’ve never heard of a law enforcement license, and I spent a career working in uniform for a law enforcement agency. Is this something unique to Missouri, or are these lawyers blithering idiots?
Has anyone asked if Wilson wants to work anywhere near MO? Still, the MDPS should tell the lawyers to take a hike.

There are no grounds for the state to take such action. But who would expect a bunch of affirmative actin law school grads to know that?
Guess I would be kind of interested where these guys come down on Ray Lewis? I realize the accidental death and assault are worlds apart but Lewis got convicted, the League suspended him, yet the lawyers got him reinstated. I guess if I break a law that is against company standards - that I signed off on and the Company fires me, they don’t have a right to.
I also wonder where they ‘collectively’ came down on OJ for the deaths of Nicole and Ron, granted he was tried and deemed innocent by his peers.
Did ‘these’ lawyers try to ban OJ from doing what he does best? Well I guess he could work for Beni Haha.
