Report: GOP Establishment Plotting to Oust Conservative Leader Sen. Mike Lee
breitbart.com ^ | 12/23/14 | Tony Lee

Some prominent moderate establishment Republicans in Utah are plotting to target conservative icon Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) with a primary challenge in 2016.

Lee’s offense? He didn’t drink the Washington Kool-aid and see the D.C. cesspool as a jacuzzi after he ousted incumbent Sen. Bob Bennett (R-UT), who had supported the TARP bailouts, in 2010.

When Lee prevailed over Bennett, he gave other conservatives across the country hope that they could also defeat entrenched incumbents who cared more about preserving the status quo above all else. Once Lee arrived in Washington, he didn’t turn his back on the base, which angered some prominent establishment Republicans.

According to a report in Politico, moderate GOP billionaires like Jon Huntsman Sr. and “some powerful establishment Republicans in Utah are tired” of Lee’s conservatism and willingness to live up to his campaign promises instead of letting the D.C. establishment co-opt him.

During his first Senate term, Lee has established himself as one of conservatism’s leading voices. As Politico implies, establishment Republicans do not like him because he stood with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to defund Obamacare and has supported defunding Obama’s executive amnesty with Sens. Cruz and Jeff Sessions (R-AL). Most recently, Lee has offered positive solutions via his conservative reform agenda that specifically focuses on improving the lives of working Americans with conservative policies.

Huntsman, the father of President Barack Obama’s former Ambassador to China and failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, reportedly has refused to meet with Lee because of his “extremely radical” positions against Obamacare and executive amnesty. Huntsman said the government shutdown cost his cancer research foundation millions in federal taxpayer dollars, and he predicted “a major primary challenge” against Lee, telling Politico that Lee is an “embarrassment” and “an extremist.”

IOW we have to be 3x more ready than they are.

We have to control the local parties, we control the state parties. Shut out the beltway evil.

Fight so many battles now that the RINOs and their hedonists can’t keep up.

At some point, there’s going to be a 3rd party. This could be the watershed moment.

I’m glad I didn’t vote for any DC Republicans. Who else around here can say that?

I say let him stay just to piss off the Liberal media and Democrats. This charge amounts to “jaywalking” in light of the ongoing criminality perpetrated by the EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

Let him be the “lump of coal” that Pelosi deserves.

Mike Lee’s got something like an 80% approval rating. Mississippi tactics won’t work in Utah. I don’t think Illinois tactics work in Utah, either. The most they can do is to make Lee sweat before he wins the primary/caucus 70%-30%.

Mike Lee has a lot more of support and has done a great job for Utah. Let the GOP ‘moderates’ try and remove him. Their second whipping will be a lesson for all other moderates to see.

Nah. They’re lesser evils. I learned on FR from hard right wingers that lesser evil is the way to go. Because Reagan would have wanted that and stuff.

Its time to target GOP establishment leaders in primaries. Boehner and McCarthy need to be dumped. I think a fund needs to be started to support real Conservative challengers to those spots as an example to those who think the voters can’t stop them.

You can never let your guard down against the establishment. They have nothing to live for but money, power, and corruption, and the only means they know is Big Government.

People let their guard down after Reagan, and look what happened.

Cost his cancer research center millions in taxpayer dollars.... Really? Huntsman’s sense of entitlement to American taxpayer money is simply breathtaking. I have three words for you; screw you thief. And believe me Mr. Huntsman those words do not convey the contempt I now hold you in.

This is total BS. A new poll just came out this week and Mike Lee has like 65% approval rating. He’s a shoe in for re-election. That’s what happens when you go to DC and do what your constituents elected you to do.

They will go after anyone that does not side with them—

But Just look at DEMON’S!!!:

Homsexual agenda
abortion

Atheists

Maybe in a few more years the Rino’s will just adopt
the Demonrat party goals

I don’t vote by party. I vote for conservatives.

I have voted for 3 DC Republicans in the past 14 years - Bush in 2004 and Romney and Josh Mandel(Senate from Ohio) in 2012. My congress critters have been RINOs. My other Senator is a RINO. If the Libertarian candidate is pro-life I vote for them. If not, then I vote for the Constitution party. If one isn’t running I don’t vote for that office.

I doubt I will ever get the chance to vote for a Republican again though I sure would like to.
