Violent attacks by Boko Haram have caused many to flee their homes, creating a humanitarian crisis within Nigeria and neighboring countries.

Refugees say they have witnessed brutal acts of savagery, with men's throats being slit and women being held as "war booty."

Chad has become the latest country on the border with Nigeria to be affected by a Boko Haram attack.

The BBC's Tom Oladipo went to Yola village in Aadamawa state in northeast Nigeria and spoke to refugees there.

When they show some determination to fix the problem and some competence to do so, we should considering sending them weapons and hiring them some contractors to train them.

But that is about it.

In that case we would just arm Chad, Nigeria and the surrounding gov’ts to deal with Boko Haram and arm the FSA and/or the Kurds to deal with ISIS -— and no U.S. boots on the ground in either Africa or in Syria-Iraq.

That sounds like an even-handed approach.

I’m saying that this is how ISIS, Boko Haram and all of their predecessors define themselves. It’s decades old, and nothing was done about it all this time.

>>IOW, you believe

I believe collective human nature manifests itself in somewhat predictable ways that were recognized by America’s founders, and that’s why they prohibited state-establishments in their 1st amendment — lest the self-worshiping state enslave us all, again.

Sure, “fix the sandbox” by getting rid of Israel. Right?

Probably because we won’t be able to persuade Nigeria to fight them over here.

"... should we only deal with terrorists that factor into our national interests?"

Damn straight.
I could never ask a man to die for some sh!thole "country" like this, a nation of crooks and a kleptocracy at best.

We can't try to police every stinking sewer and disease-infected hogwallow in the world.

No, folks aren’t tired, because A) They’re not paying for it, it all goes on the national credit card, and B) for 99% of them, they and thier’s aren’t going.

Probably because we won’t be able to persuade Nigeria to fight them over here.

How many times do we have to get into a conflict before we will finally learn that trying to fight for a country that will not fight for itself or its own government is a no-win situation?

If some conservative pundits are willing to bring up liberating the people of Iraq as justification for toppling Saddam, why don’t they use the same rhetoric concerning Boko Haram?

I don't know. Hopefully they learned a lesson.

Anyone who believed toppling Saddam was about liberating the Iraqi people is a friggin' idiot. Though to be fair, it's just as useless an excuse as all the other bulls**t reasons we were spoon fed for the invasion. Our misadventure in Iraq was probably the greatest military foreign blunder in U.S. history.

How about we shouldn’t be doing any of it.
It always comes back to bite us in the rear AND they end up hating us even more for meddling.

This has been the pattern since the 70’s at least, probably longer.

When are we going to wise up?

weird how the media hardly mentions this except the BBC, maybe they just don’t care about black lives and not to worry as bozo is off to CA for some warmth and rest after such a hard few weeks of tough interviews from a green lipstick woman, and taking selfies while making a video.

Why would Obama help the victims of Boko Harum? They are black African Christians, not a black crypto-moslem Africa Marxist like him?

You haven’t heard a word from Obama or his whores at the State Department about the slaughter of white farmers in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) and South Africa (4,000 according to an article in National Review which was posted on FR yesterday).

If they’re white, we won’t fight (for them). Obama
