Some in the media have likened ISIS to the Nazis. Given that Boko Haram is just as savage a terrorist entity as ISIS, Boko Haram could also be likened to being Nazis.
With that in mind, if we were to put boots on the ground to deal with ISIS, should the same be done to deal with Boko Haram?
Does humanitarianism factor into this, or should we only deal with terrorists that factor into our national interests? If so, why do some bring up liberating Iraq from Saddam as justification for going into Iraq, or ISIS being like the Nazis and not just leave things within a purely national interest model when/if it comes to putting boots on the ground?
National socialism have been linked to Islamic terror ever since the end of WWII. Arab nationalism + Islamic socialism = Islamic national socialism.
Africa is a s***hole, no boots.
I would rather see us work with Christian tribal leaders to arm Christian militia. I don’t know how the Nigerian government would feel about that though.
Why?
Aren’t folks tired yet spending our treasure and the lives of our service members for a bunch of ungrateful foreigners who are to incompetent to defend themselves?
No boots on the ground UNLESS they are willing to pull all the stops and let those boots do whatever needs to be done; no holds barred; death and destruction to the enemy and total evisceration of Sharia Law.
Nothing less in Nigeria or anywhere else it is deemed necessary to put boots on the ground.
There are ‘boots on the ground’ already. Nigeria has an over 100,000 man army, plus air force, navy and security/police. If they can’t or won’t fight for themselves, there’s precious little we can do for them.
Poison gas.
Seriously.
No. Not time for boots on the ground. They want to goad us into a war favoring one group of Muslims over another group of Muslims when all of them would just as soon slit our throats (as soon as they are done milking us for weapons and “training”).
The only US boots should be on the ground at the US/Mexican border. No more American s should die in the Middle East or Africa. If these people want to fight themselves, then more power to them.
First answer the question if the Nigerian army isn't willing to fight Boko Haram then why should we? And I'd ask the same question about ISIS and the Iraqi army.
Let Nigeria handle their own problems, we should offer support and equipment though
Subhuman savages.
HOw come all the proud to be African-Americans in this country aren’t outraged at the atrocities going on in their homeland??
Damn straight.
I could never ask a man to die for some sh!thole "country" like this, a nation of crooks and a kleptocracy at best.
We can't try to police every stinking sewer and disease-infected hogwallow in the world.
I think this article addresses that question: http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/apj/apj01/spr01/vorspr01.html
weird how the media hardly mentions this except the BBC, maybe they just don’t care about black lives and not to worry as bozo is off to CA for some warmth and rest after such a hard few weeks of tough interviews from a green lipstick woman, and taking selfies while making a video.
We can’t save everyone in the world. Our primary task is to identify federal fascist bureaucrats living in our neighborhoods. ID them by name, address and where they shop for bananas.
They are trying to suck us in. Resistance is not futile.
