Less than 48 hours after a video surfaced of a racist chant was recorded at a frat function, the University of Oklahoma ordered the closure of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house.
Hundreds of students and faculty protested Sigma Alpha Epsilon on Monday morning.
The University of Oklahoma is severing all ties with its Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter after leaked cellphone video shows members chanting racial slurs.
University of Oklahoma President David Boren sent a clear message to the Oklahoma community Monday morning a night after a leaked video reportedly shows members of the campus' Sigma Alpha Epsilon singing a racist chant.
The White House responded to the racist video from Sigma Alpha Epsilon during Monday's press briefing.
The video of the incident went viral Sunday night.
Monday afternoon, the university brought in crews to board up the house. All the residents must move out by midnight Tuesday.
Howard, the cook for the house, must also move on. The racist actions cost him his job, a job he held for 14 years.
“I think it is outrageous,” Howard said.
His family was by his side Monday afternoon as he went to say goodbye, his daughter carrying her child in her arms.
“What can we do? It is over and done with, nothing we can do about it now,” he said. “We used to have so much fun -- game-day and football season -- now it is all gone,” he added.

Who owns the house? If it is property of the University, then they have the right to shutter the building. However, if it is NOT university property...
Further, the members can simply move to another location off campus.

Meanwhile, anti- Jew and anti- Christian chants and “rallies” and signs and “seminars” and “teach- ins” are standard fare on many American college campuses. Including several recent reports from California. Where are California’s governor and college regents and legislature? Why is senator Fienstein shooting off her mouth with a pile of anti-israel lies when all this anti-semitism is scaring many California Jewish citizens away from her own state’s public colleges including San Francisco State and UCBerkeley right in her local area? Has anyone asked Nancy Pelosi how “upset” she feels about anti- American, anti- Christian/Jewish propaganda and threats on her local “public” colleges? Senator Boxer is amazingly silent, too.
Road Trip!
I was in a fraternity in college that had its’ own private house on private property. Several of the Alumni purchased the home. Rehabbed it and gave it to the Fraternity in Trust.
I remember that it was pretty rare that a Frat would own their own of campus housing at any school.Usually the frats have their homes on campus, often even in Dormitories.
