Wednesday on the House floor, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) criticized Texas for its conspiracy theories and then said God must understand Spanish because he named his son Jesus.

Which came first, the hispanic name Jesus or the man? I assume those named Jesus in Latin America are named after God. Much like we have Mary’s, Abrahams and Muhammad across the different regions of the world.

Gee. The stupidity actually hurts! Imagine a Mexico that endured a couple three, four hundred years of Spanish oppressive rule. Their Mayan, Incan, Indian and other tribal heritages relegated to that rule. Their entire culture oppressed and subverted and forced now to speak the language of its conquerors. And they now take to this hispanola as if it rose from the mother tongue of their ancestors. So much so, even how Jesus was Mexican (Spanish). From a time where Spain wasn’t even in a position to be remotely thinking about conquering a bunch of savages who threw heads around like soccer balls for entertainment.
