As expected, Bill Maher has now weighed in on the non-troversy, that erupted this week when Jerry Seinfeld bemoaned the culture of political correctness on college campuses and Maher went a step farther.
Both Maher and his guest Comedy Central roast master Jeffrey Ross, agreed with Seinfeld, which should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with their work.
The big stunner came when Maher acknowledged that liberals have become so infected by political correctness, that they have been rendered all but incapable of finding his brand of humor amusing. As a result, Maher has had to modify the makeup of his audience.
He explained;
Liberals are definitely more PC. I used to fight with this audience all the time, because we used to get the audience strictly from liberal sources. Then we got the audience from like everywhere, and Ive had a much better time the last couple of months.
Hows that for delicious irony? The only way Bill Maher can guarantee hell get some laughs is by packing his studio with uptight, puritanical conservatives.
Odd how the media was okay with that not Limbaugh's "slut" comment. Maher said that he didn't have sponsors, etc. yet he does when he regularly appears on CNN. CNN's parent corp is the same as his host HBO (pay tv), Time-Life-Warner. CNN, CNN's sponsors, HBO, and even Time-Life-Warner itself are not immune from boycotts.
I’m familiar with them. I am also familiar with sleeping at night. And I ave no issue with either.
Outstanding. I’m even willing to laugh when conservative make idiots of themselves. Rush did it all the time (and still does) when he uses the word “strategery”, rather than “strategy”, which I think came from one of Bush-43’s flubs. He does it in other ways too.
The libs are so filled with hate, they simply cannot laugh at anything that might make their side look silly.
Cool, glad you did that.
Maybe people will begin to wake up and fight back against PC if they realize it will kill comedy.
“Things like this can start to spread and do a lot of good.’
I’m wondering if the comedians are going to go full mockery on PC. There is no fatter target.
by being PC one belongs, one is making a difference, one is brain dead
being PC allows one to be otherwise worthless
“we used to get the audience strictly from liberal sources”
This is the interesting admission in this article. Libs always have to stack the deck in their favor.
Its interesting how Maher comes across as telling it like it is and it took him 10+ years to come to the same conclusion that the right-wingers have been saying all along.
Whats next, he will claim liberal bias in the media?
Exactly. Very thankful these guys are coming our way. They can see. the world has gone crazy.
That's a great comment. This is why left wingers love pointing out "hypocrisy". They don't get the concept of sinning , while at the same time acknowledging it is wrong and not being proud of it.
There is a major difference between the old-school politically incorrect shock comics of the 90s and the social justice warriors of today.
A show like “In Living Color”, which was considered edgy comedy 24 years ago with depiction of gays, blacks, and the disabled, is today derided by leftists as being “bigoted” and likely could never air again.
Maher is a throw-back to that time and has not adjusted to the new reality, and is now about to be devoured by his spawn
Yeah? Well, I'm reincarnated from Ben Franklin LOL.
You set yourself up, there, FRiend!
You mention “In Living Color” - one of the funniest shows on air at the time - Damon Wayon being a spectacular talent. Luckily, before the censors ban it, I have a dvd of all the episodes. Remember Men on Film? Homey the Clown?
Challenge them to a duel! Swords or pistols?

The Caning of Senator Charles Sumner
On May 22, 1856, the "world's greatest deliberative body" became a combat zone. In one of the most dramatic and deeply ominous moments in the Senate's entire history, a member of the House of Representatives entered the Senate chamber and savagely beat a senator into unconsciousness...
Nazi Germany was very politically correct. Say something bad about derr Fuhrer and the Gestapo was sure to pay a visit and make sure your mind was right. From then on you would have a folder with your name on it down at HQ.
Don't come aknockin' Adolph...
They sneered when Romney said "binders full of women", obviously to have meant resumés from women. They howled when Marco Rubio took a drink from a bottle of water during a talking-head interview on tv. They consistently characterized the self-deprecating wittiness of Dubya and dry humor of Reagan and even Eisenhower as stupidity... Truly, they have no senses of humor. A sense of humor requires higher intelligence than their norm. And they derive their morality not from the Bible or the great writings, but from a deep emotional conviction that if a conservative is laughing, he is laughing AT someone.
“Airplane” and “Blazing Saddles” could not be made today. Heck they don’t even show them on the oldies cables channels and I PAY for those channels.
A society that can no longer laugh is ripe for dictatorship.
How about “ Two Snaps Up “
The homeless drunk that lived in a box ?
This Old Box ,,,I think.
Fly Girls anyone?
