Good to read that some people are not stupid and ignorant.

Well, that ship has sailed.
I’m not from the South but I have *no* problem with the Confederate flag but,OTOH,have a *huge* problem with what that filthbag did in South Carolina a few weeks ago.
Having been raised in the California school system in the 80s, I was taught (at every grade level) that the confederate flag is a symbol of racism and that the confederacy started the civil war solely because they wanted to keep their slaves.
Needless to say, I received some major culture shock when I moved to the southern midwest. My only saving virtue was that I never assume I know all the answers and took it with a approach to ask questions. Once I learned the “whole story” on the civil war and what the confederate flag really means, it frustrates me every day to see this kind of news knowing that these decisions are being made by blatantly ignorant people who know nothing of the south.
As I’ve said in an earlier thread, I am intrigued about ideas concerning non-violent protests against the UniParty of Government and their corporate and media elite support. If I were an American and lived nearby, I would like to sit outside the executive head offices of Viacom (as they control a great deal of what you watch on television) with a Confederate flag just to see what kind of reaction you would get. And you could have on hand copies of images and related items involving the modern Democrats and Republicans and the aforementioned flag. Any thoughts on this? I do not mean to repeat myself, forgive me, but am curious about all of this.
Well the Confederate flag is alive and well at our house and will be proudly displayed alongside the Gadsden flag at our July 4th deck party. :-)

I didn’t have ancestors on either side but the Confederate flag should remain as it is..a symbol of American history and a token of the ancestors millions of Americans..and yes a source of pride..
My ancestors were Loyalists during the American Revolution.. “the troubles”..born in the US to American parents and grandparents..
What’s next ??? Banning the Union Jack that used to fly over our country just because its a symbol of “oppression” taxation and the English King George ???

It’s a meme for the left and social media. In two or three weeks it will settle down. Maybe even sooner than that.
Wow. CNN is, and their polls are, predominately left wing.
If the left thinks the flag is ok, imagine the total number of people all together who think the radical activists are way over the line.
The only reason the rabid activists are demanding the flag be erased from history is because that flag represents DEMOCRAT history in the south [civil war to keep slavery, fought against civil rights, created the KKK (see "Democrat Senator Robert Byrd - KKK recruiter", and "Strom Thurmond - Racist Democrat Becomes Inclusive Republican" (when he discovered he had and loved a black daughter)].
If they can erase or get people to forget history - they get to rewrite it any way they want and the stupid people will believe it [notice how the left never discuses socialists or communist leaders of the past. Their names and images are suppose to be forgotten, too. That's why even saying the name "Hitler" is politically incorrect and grounds for personal destruction. Those who don't know history won't notice when it's happening to them again (See "NAZI Reeducation camps" and "tolerance training")
There is a movement afoot by the fans to all bring Confederate flags to the race and push back into the face of NACSAR because they caved so quickly to the cultural Marxism of the politically correct Left. Scrambled so fast to get on board the Ban-the-Confederate-Flag bandwagon, they seemed to forget who their main, hardcore fan base is....southerners, who view the flag, not as racist, but as part of their heritage and history.
Of course, I can't predict what will happen, but living in the South, I can tell you that southerners don't like to be told by these arrogant, elite, liberal snobs, what to do. My guess is that there will be a lot of Confederate flags on display this Sunday at the Daytona Raceway. I'm anxious to see how NASCAR and NBC deals with it.
Get the word to NASCAR, they don’t want people bringing the flags to their events......Its been announced in the last few hours.

You’d think that if the Confederate was a legitimate racist symbol the obama administration would adopt it to represent itself.
We really lost the media war here, Some psychopath in Charleston who should have been in a mental hospital with the help of the left wing press managed hijack an historic southern cultural symbol to reflect and sell only their own hateful ideological view of the world.
Contrary to the closed minded protral of theses hateful racist the flag does in fact have a legitimate historical and cultural importance to the south.
The article points out that there are still quite a few people out there who believe in the flag as it is used by many of our best cultural icons from The Dukes of Hazard to Firefly. It isn’t about racism or oppression to everyone but rather anther story about a strong people who fought for their Independence lost then rose again from the ashes of destruction still holding on to a rebel spirit.
I don’t agree with removing the flag from the capital in Columbia That flag which I have personalty seen many times is very clearly associated and attached to a civil War monument and should be left there as a reminder of that war and the southern men who died by the hundreds of thousands(Black and White) to defend their homes.
But our leaders for whatever reason jumped to abandon us, and they should be punished for that. Nobody is safe under a leader willing to blame Paul for Peter’s crime, and furthermore act in hast to do so after a tragity.
A leader willing to act rashly on emotions is dangerous and should not be trusted. This includes not only the RINO’s in South Carolina but across the south.
