I have enormous respect for Victor Davis Hanson and read with great interest his account this week that people are fed up with liberal elites.
Amid all this leftish high-fiving about court decisions and executive orders, we forget political and electoral reality. Barack Obama has done more to destroy liberal political power in the Congress and in the statehouses than any Democratic politician since the 1920s. His executive orders and neglect of enforcing existing law have green-lighted the executive power of the next Republican president in a way that Richard Nixon could hardly imagine.
He has discredited the idea of a disinterested media to such a degree that its biased audits of the next future Republican administration will be seen as laughable.
Europe and the United States are seeing glimpses of the ultimate leftist trajectory -- a mixture of Greece and Detroit, de facto non-enforcement of the law, the Iranian nuke deal, a new McCarthyism, and race, class, and gender hatred -- and are becoming afraid and perhaps appalled.
And there is plenty of evidence to support his view. For example, 70% of the people who voted for Obama’s re-election now regret doing so, according to a YouGov poll, and the astounding response Donald Trump is getting suggests that it is not just name recognition and “nativism” in play.
From the outset of this administration it has been clear that “diversity” (which to Obama means advancing the careers of every one of his cronies at the expense of non-Hispanic whites and males) over competence has been a major goal. And each week we see how much that harms national needs and shatters national unity.
This week’s big domestic fail, amusingly spun as “data exfiltration” of the over 21 million personnel files at the OPM, reveals the utter incompetence of Obama.

I am afraid that the advance of technology has come to the point that it has achieved total victory over the sclerotic government bureaucracy.
The glacial nature of Government makes in now totally incapable of maintaining any secrets from the technological advancement of spy craft.
It is hopeless unless government revert to the technology of the 1940’s. A totally paper based system would make computer based spy craft ineffective. Anything else is basically putting your information at the public's fingertips.
Of course it doesn’t help if you are outsourcing your IT management to China and Argentina and giving those foreign nationals Root access to your system. That is just stupid beyond belief.

Caliph Baraq was re-elected with $4 gas, surging food prices, 8% unemployment (13% real), Obamacare, Benghazi, and trillion dollar deficits.
The folks who voted for Baraq want gravy or statism and they continue to get it.
At any rate, what's the liberal response to the whole mess from those in power?

Your post reminds me of something Reagan once said.
To paraphrase, Reagan said that there are people (liberals) in far off Washington, DC, who think they can plan our lives for us better than we can plan and live our own lives.
It was true decades ago, and is true today. The liberals are all about big government/top down solutions to every conceivable problem.
I hope this gets discussed in political campaigns. The issue of big government/more government/more bureaucracy vs. giving people more freedom in our personal lives, in running our businesses, etc. would be an interesting discussion.
And part of that debate should be the fact that the bigger the bureaucracy, the bigger the tendency that we see unintended consequences, or make things worse than they were before. Prime example is Obamacare as the solution to our health insurance problems in this country. Let’s discuss if the liberals solution has really made things better.

Hilliary will offer more free stuff (there is over half the votes she needs right there), and she has a powerful political machine, lots of foreign money as well as the wealthy liberal elite, cheap labor industries and the bankers, with the MSmedia working tirelessly for her campaign.
Add to that arkancide, illegals voting, and massive voter fraud and this election is going to be tough election.
