In my round robin tennis group I often end up on the same court with a guy named Zbig. He is from some eastern bloc country and is just as bad as the Zbig with the big mouth. He wants us to be like the great country of Sweden. Socialism for all. The arguments that he starts usually end up with him skulking away to his hole. He is not very well liked.

Keep in mind, though, that the United States exploded it's first atomic bomb 70 years ago, and the Soviets did the same 66 years ago. Even China did it over 50 years ago. The fact the Iranians are still flailing about, trying to do something that civilized nations managed well over half a century ago just illustrates how primitive and backwards the Iranians are, not just technologically, but culturally as well. This is a nation, after all, who overthrew the Shah and installed a bunch of mullahs to run the place because the Shah wanted to modernize Iran! That's one reason the Iranians are so dead set against inspection, IMO. They don't want the rest of the world to see what a threadbare mess their nuclear program really is. If you want to live in the 7th Century, that's up to you. Just don't expect any progress, technological or otherwise.

Z.B. is somewhere around 87 or 88 years old. (He's actually a couple of years older than his soul mate, George Soros.) If I remember correctly, his daddy had a job with the Polish GubMint that had them living in Germany during Z.B.'s formative years.

He was blessed with being able to watch (and evidently sympathize with) the Nazis as they rose to power. The fact that he was there is beyond dispute. The fact that it affected his attitude toward Jews is evidenced by his words and deeds.

Remember, it was on his watch that The Ayatollah came to power and the Shah (our loyal ally) was deposed. Somehow I can picture Z.B. quietly smiling throuigh all of that.
