Jews who support this agreement and Obama are supporting those who would impose a new Final Solution.

Liberal American Jews are being forced to choose between support for the Jewish homeland and what they perceive as loyalty to their country The Liberal American Jews have it backwards: It is Obama who is being disloyal to the country.

Obama and his people chose to play the Jew card--
presenting opponents of the deal as traitors and warmongers and Jewish ones particularly as disloyal
To: SJackson
Its interesting that a movement which values involvement and social action so strongly and which purports to favor open discussion and democracy above all, has fled from engagement with this particular issue, because its too divisive. This isnt just hypocrisy. A big part of the problem is that American Jews have been manipulated by demagogic techniques that appealed to their deep-seated fear of the traditional antisemitic accusations of disloyalty. BINGO!

Seams to me, whether it is religion or politics the further away from orthodoxy and conservatism the greater fear becomes and inaction persists. Fear should not be confused with identifying real problems.

Just like the Jews in the Ghetto who were afraid to "provoke" the Nazis, in the hope they'd be spared the Gas chamber.
If more Jews in Europe had done what was done in Warsaw, the war would've been over a year early.

and what they perceive as loyalty to their country. Liberal Jews' loyalty to their country doesn't exist. Their only "country" loyalty is to whoever is America's enemy of the moment. To Democratic Party, maybe.
But really what we're talking about is loyalty to their circle of colleagues and friends whose disapproval they fear. They used to support Israel because Jews were designated victims. But because they don't believe in God, they have no consistent frame of reference or logic. The Lefty culture that used to sneer about suburbanites "keeping up with the Joneses" are obsessed with showing that they're in conformity with the (ever-changing) positions held in their hive.

Amen!
And just a personal note...
My ministry to “outlaw” bikers meets in a tent behind a biker bar. We are unabashedly Evangelical and pro-Israel.
The owner of the biker bar is a Tough Guy, a Biker, who also happens to be Jewish.
He loves us, displays our colors in his establishment, lets us use his bathrooms and electricity, and invites us to all the events.
We are a little gritty and unconventional, and sure don’t fit the model of a American Evangelical Establishment, but we go where other saints sometimes fear to tread.
G-d Bless Israel and the Jewish people!

Well ain't this delicious? First liberal American Jews supported Israel because it was the "left-wing" position, and now they turn on Israel when
that is the new "left wing" position. What a bunch of cowards and scoundrels. I'm actually enjoying this.
And btw--AIPAC is made up of liberal Democrats. It is far, far, far from the "hawkish" organization the Pat Buchanans of the world make it out to be.

Where does Chuck Schumer fit into all this?
On the one hand, he was not afraid to declare his opposition to the Iran Treaty, because, according to him, he consulted with his conscience.
On the other hand, he has been afraid to lobby his fellow Democratic Senators against the treaty — an action which could result in the treaty actually being voted down by Congress since Chuck has enormous power among Congressional Democrats.
It’s as if Chuck’s teeny weeny little conscience managed to stand up long enough for him to oppose the treaty, but then due to overexertion it collapsed and many never be heard from again.

I’ve been involved with a few back & forths on this subject. When one brings up the Jews in America, it’s so damn easy for them to not be interested in this....
They aren’t routinely targeted for violence
They don’t have to worry about rockets and mortars landing on their homes, schools, synagogues
They don’t have to worry about Hamas, etc, coming out of a tunnel and kidnapping them
They don’t have to worry about someone walking into a market or getting on a bus with TNT strapped to their body
Basically, except for some vandalism once and while(some of which turns out to be fraudulent), they don’t have to worry about sh*t. They have two oceans, a phenomenal law enforcement apparatus and the most lethal military machine ever know to man, protecting their sorry, liberal, leftist asses. With the dregs of the world pouring over the border or getting off a Delta flight at Hartsfield, that might change. They may eventually see what it’s like to be hated, despised, and targeted and they might start changing their minds.
