Three comments:
1) He’s a classic hoarder, with a gun fetish
2) It’s hard to believe a nothing sort of guy had the contacts to accumulate so much stolen hardware
3) At least he kept the ammunition in a separate, locked trailer!

Best part of the article was the interview with is neighbor “Rusty Fender”. Ol’ Rustys parents had a sense of humor.

I assume Chesterfield is rural....
“Rusty Fender told WBTV he had lived next to Nicholson his entire life and never suspected the hoarding of weapons.”

Paragraph 11 (eleven):
"You know he just had 7,000 guns," Brooks said. Ninety-nine-point-nine percent are hunting rifles and shotguns."
So as far as anyone's safety is concerned, he might as well have been hoarding stolen pickup trucks or stolen axes.

***Deputies estimate that they’ve seized between 7,000 and 10,000 stolen guns***
We had a similar thing like this happen here years ago. A local “businessman” (Owned a bar across the line in Oklahoma) was busted for burglary and his house was found with secret panels behind which were stolen guns and lots of other equipment.
After he was arrested and the house emptied, it mysteriously burned one night.

7000 stolen guns is a lot of crime focused on one item...Can't imagine thieves traveling from the 50 States to get to this guy to sell him their booty...Would seem they had to come from a much smaller more concentrated area where that many gun thefts would be the topic of discussions thru out the police world in the area...Yet, the cops are scratching their heads...'Where'd all these guns come from???' They didn't even know 7000 guns were missing...
It makes for a great headline for the anti gun freaks...It's going to be interesting to find out the 'rest of the story'...

"Deputies estimate that they've seized between 7,000 and 10,000 stolen guns"Well that's a nice, loose number. Not too specific.
I have a feeling that a bunch of cops are going to get some nice additions to their personal collections.

"Nicholson has been arrested and charged with trafficking opium and heroin earlier in the week in Union County."
Interesting lack of comments on that.
