The president believes that "there is no global warming, that this is a fraud to restrain the industrial development of several countries including Russia," says Stanislav Belkovsky, a political analyst and critic of Putin. "That is why this subject is not topical for the majority of the Russian mass media and society in general."
And with Russian media focused on the economic squeeze at home and events in Ukraine and Syria abroad, the absence of a robust media conversation on climate change means his scepticism goes largely unchallenged.

Putin's scepticism dates from the early 2000s, when his staff "did very, very extensive work trying to understand all sides of the climate debate", said Andrey Illarionov, Putin's senior economic adviser at the time and now a senior fellow at the Cato Institute in Washington.
"We found that, while climate change does exist, it is cyclical, and the anthropogenic role is very limited," he said. "It became clear that the climate is a complicated system and that, so far, the evidence presented for the need to 'fight' global warming was rather unfounded."
That opinion endures. During a trip to the Arctic in 2010, Putin acknowledged that "the climate is changing", but restated his doubt that human activity was the cause.

Oh no. Not another reason for the Putin lovers to gloat.
I posted this because the Daily Caller from which I posted the first article is an aggregate news org and this is the source of that article on Putin and Climate Change denial.
Lets see, he is pro christian, anti-global warming patriot. Granted, he is our mortal enemy, but I also have to admit I am a little jealous.
Oh no. Not another reason for the Putin lovers to gloat.
Don’t forget Putin is a Dictator and what he says goes . He keeps winning because he destroyed all other parties in Russia
Rather I'm still looking for reasons to consider Putin a mortal enemy. Because John McCain and Barack Obama said so?
And don’t forget the democratically elected western leaders (except maybe the president of Hungary) believe or push the climate change fraud. So your point means nothing in that light.
If the clock strikes 12 & Putin and I agree it’s 12, what does it mean? It means nothing. In the end he’s still a petulant communist thug and I’m still a red-blooded, freedom loving, apple pie eating American male.
He threatens their operating narrative. Thus he is a mortal enemy. Did not Obama say he is a strong leader due to his global warming stance?
The problem comes when there are multiple agreements. Then your mind needs to shut down or re-think stuff.
Nah, I keep it real easy. It’s us vs them, always.
This is not saying “it’s 12 oclock”.
This is saying, “the whole world is lying and GW is a hoax”.

For many years, the Russians have been predicting a climate cooling trend. Furthermore, Russian scientists seem more objective in their analyses of causes of climate change.
The Russians recognize that there is no scientific evidence of man caused climate change.
“Rather I’m still looking for reasons to consider Putin a mortal enemy.”
Hint, someone is your enemy when they call you their enemy.
