Watch out, world: Sarah Palin said she's open to running for political office again.
The former Alaska governor touched on a possible return to politics during a wide-ranging interview on CBS's "Sunday Morning." "This will always be home," she said of Wasilla, Ala. "I would know that I could always come back here."
"You're willing to run again?" the interviewer asked.
"I'd be willing. That's a good way to put it," Palin said.
The former Republican vice presidential nominee left the political scene after the GOP's White House defeat in 2008. Apart from endorsements here and there, her primary political outlet is Facebook, where she writes notes to 4.5 million followers. She mentioned no specific plans to run for office, but she didn't shy away from giving an opinion on the 2016 Republican presidential primary.
"Right now, I would say that fighter is Donald Trump, because he's got nothing to lose," Palin said. "He doesn't have to be bought or sold, obviously, especially when it comes to contributions. He is his own man."
Palin defended her no-holds-barred style.
"I think too many people worry about being too divisive, or they worry about the politically correct police who will tell them, you know, to 'sit down and shut up because you're politically incorrect.' I'm like, 'That's part of the problem in our country right now,' " she said.

Good point and something that never came to mind. LOL - too bad, so sad, that all states are not TEXAS-minded
So, WaPo is making this up out of whole cloth?
I hope she does run...and win! That would set their hair on fire for sure! And we’d love it!
The article didn’t mention any reactions by the Left.
I think she is handling this well, if her intent is to return to public office she seems to be doing it right.
The lead person at the moment is Donald Trump.
Sarah seems to recognize Trump is very strong. I don’t think she will take on Trump, but she is making sounds like she will support him.
I was also on this board saying Palin should be picked by McCain before he announced his selection of Palin, for the 2008 election. I am VERY STRONGLY pro-Palin. I would support Palin over Trump in fact.
But I am very glad she is making noises in this direction. She has stood down for quite a while. It is time for her to decide whether to run, or whether to stand down.
(hoping very much, she steps up to the plate once again)
At her worst, would she be that much worse than the current field? I thought “no” for 2012, and, no offense to the 2016 field, I’d still say “no” now.
