He is only recognizing the obvious.

And who the next President he will have to deal with, is going to be.

He is simply working to make it even harder for Hillary to get in.

If you don't respect your adversaries you'll never be able to work with them in any sort of constructive manner. We've certainly seen the results of lack of respect over the past 7 years.

Trump is the "reset button" for US-Russian relations we've been waiting for. You don't have to like or approve of someone to work with them for mutual benefit, but you do need to respect them. Every businessman knows that.

We should be playing Russia and China against each other instead of driving them into each other arms like Obama has done and like McCain style Republicans want to do.

Remember when Trump said he buys politicians as the price for doing business? Trump is planning a tower in Moscow. That wouldn’t happen without Putin getting money.

“No one, not even enemies, likes cowards, sniveling rats, pansies, traitors to their own country and hypocrites.”

Who would possibly trust Obama in any action? Most leaders can be at least trusted to act in the interest of their country.

Interesting. The Russians seemed to be decent judges of political character these days.

I read what the Russians think about and call obama and, based upon 7 years of experience with obama's merit and job performance, I didn't find much to disagree with.

So now when I read what Putin thinks about Trump, it supports what is becoming my general opinions about both men.

Strong men can seal a deal with a handshake with no thought of it ever being broken.

Weak men can never have enough lawyers around to make their deals for them and even then the deal is worthless and made to be broken. It's just a matter of time and the appropriate opportunity.

They'll rationalize that it's "easier to get forgiven than get permission" or something like that and Boom! It's another broken promise.

Weak! And we, the people, wonder why the world hates US...

“Strong men can seal a deal with a handshake with no thought of it ever being broken.”

I would not characterize either Hitler or Stalin as “weak”. Ambitious, amoral, charismatic, evil.. but not weak.

Political leaders break promises when it is to their advantage to do so. Machiavelli had it right on this.

Reagan had it right also, when he said “Trust, but verify.”

I think Putin wants Hillary in. An extension of the Obama admin where he can further his agenda.

So if he says he likes Trump people may in his mind vote for Hillary. And if Trump wins he complimented him and maybe will start off on good terms.

Christie, Rubio, Fiorina, Bush seems to want war with Russia and that is why I have had it with the establishment.

Russia fighting Islamic terrorist and Christian.
We are supposed to be fighting Islamic terrorists and still are a Christian country.

Do I trust Putin, no, but I don’t trust any elected official, but at least he has the balls to do what is right for his country unlike our fairy in chief.

This’ll be fun to watch. The He man Putin Hater Club is largely populated by Trump supporters.

How do you figure that?

Because I read the Russia threads and see the names of the people posting. Go see for yourself. I’m not saying every Trump supporter is a member of the club. But many are.

Putin isn’t nearly as worthy of praise as some of his fans here believe, but the fearmongering about Putin from the neoconservatives (you get it more from fans of Rubio than from Trump supporters) is even more ridiculous. To listen to some of their hysterics, you’d think that the Crimea was US territory or that the Syrian “rebels” he’s bombing are somehow vital US allies.

You don’t have to wonder. You can just look at the past and see that Russia was using their propaganda machine to attack both McCain and Romney for the favor of Obama.

I had one tell me that the words of the founders regarding foreign entanglements were nonsense. A Trump guy BTW. That person was also for an Imperial America ruling the world.

Sure, that’s some of them. But Trump himself is actually pretty sensible on foreign policy. Bush, Rubio, and Christie are itching to send ground troops into Syria, Trump isn’t. In the last debate, he asks how much better the trillions we spent on “Nation Building” in the Middle East could have been used on infrastructure at home.
