Even Bubba Can't Rain On The Donald's Parade
Boston Herald ^ | 12/29/15 | Howie Carr

Posted on 12/29/2015 4:57:42 AM PST by raccoonradio

Here’s what I saw yesterday with my own eyes — Donald Trump, with his wife, Melania. It was at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. He was getting ready to fly to Nashua for the speech last night, and she was getting ready to go to the beach.

I mention this only to set up a question: How often do you see Mr. and Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton together?

So now Clinton is going to be the Trump Slayer? He’s going to take down the big bad billionaire? The bumkissers are touting Clinton as the guy all the ladies love, unless of course the ladies are named Willey, or Jones, or Lewinski, or Broaddrick….

Way back when, one of the New York tabloids ran a front-page headline about The Donald, with a quote from one of his girlfriends: “Best Lover I Ever Had.”

The only headline quote they ever ran from one of Clinton’s women about his foreplay was: “ ‘You Better Put Some Ice on That.’ ”

The RINOs are saying, if Trump is so shocked by the Clintons, why’d he invite them to his wedding in Palm Beach? On the other hand, if Hillary is so shocked by Trump, why’d she come … and sit in the front row?

So I’m in Palm Beach on vacation yesterday with my wife, Newsmax publisher Chris Ruddy and best-selling author (and ex-Herald reporter) Ron Kessler and his wife, and Trump comes down to see us before he leaves. As the front-runner, he’s got Secret Service protection now. He’s living the dream.

“It’s great,” Trump says. “You don’t have to small talk these guys with, ‘How’s the weather?’ I tried it a couple of days, then I realized they don’t care, they’re just here to make sure nothing happens. It’s great when you’re playing golf. You make a bad shot, they don’t see anything, they’re too busy scanning the woods, looking for bad guys.”

This guy is in the zone. Even more than on TV, in person you can see how much fun he’s having. You think he’s going to let Bill Clinton rain on his parade? Bill Clinton, a guy who was disbarred for lying under oath. Bill Clinton, who had some problems, “to put it mildly,” as Trump put it in a tweet Sunday.

“I’m going to have a meeting with the New York Times editorial board next week. They called me. I have 10 million followers on Twitter and I always call them the ‘failing @NewYorkTimes.’ ”

Yesterday when we were talking to him, he seemed less concerned with Bill Clinton than with the Union Leader in New Hampshire, which is pushing Chris Christie.

“That paper is failing,” he said. Failing — when you find a good word, keep riding it. Then he started talking about the phone call he got from Tom Brady Sunday night, after the coin toss. Too bad he went off the record about what Brady really told him.

Finally Trump stood up. The Secret Service guy started talking into his coat lapel. One of Trump’s aides handed him some ties for the Nashua speech.

“Soon,” he said, making a magnanimous motion with his hand, “we will all be in the White House together.”

There’s another guy who now lives in New York who I’m thinking makes that same prediction a lot. Only one of them can be right.

Much as I despise Billy Clintoon, I don’t hold this thing against him. ;-)

"Or neither," added Sen. Cruz.

Trump could go after all those who have donated to the Clinton Foundation expecting favors. Many of them are among the most backward, benighted misogynist in the world. Foreign dictators who rob their own people enriched the Clintons while Hillary was Secretary of State. On the other hand, Trump gave them more money than the average American makes in three years. So while he’d be doing a public service of exposing the Clinton Foundation, we’d all end up seeing that he was with the Clintons and their cronies when it was personally to his benefit. That’s not what I think of a conservative value. And for me, character still matters even if many of Trump’s supporters don’t think it does. In this regard, some of them are no different that Clinton supporters.

Those two have professional schedulers to make sure that virtually never happens.

Bill runs around on his wife. Trump trades ‘em in for a younger, newer model.

Le me be the first. Stuff it! Trump was doing what smart business people do, buying access to crooked pols. It has nothing to do with policy.

“W” refused to engage his critics, no matter the criticism.

“W” had lots of “character”.

Oh, really? He's done a lot more than pay tribute to the Clintons. He's fawned over her. He was pro-Hillary and pro-Bill when many of us were totally disgusted by the Clintons. I'm not a situational conservative. I'm a principled and firm conservative.

"Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman. I am biased because I have known her for years. I live in New York. She lives in New York. I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard. And I think, again, she’s given an agenda, it is not all of her, but I think she really works hard and I think she does a good job. I like her."

"Does Trump Really Think So Poorly of Hillary?"

"He likes her, he likes her not, he…"

I see nothing wrong with that, she’s beautiful (and rich too)

By not engaging his critics, W allowed them to frame the debate on their terms. In politics, that is a bad idea. Trump seems to have learned from watching the media and the 'Rats savage W for eight long years, on anything and everything. Trump isn't going to let that happen to him.

It also bears noting that the 'Rats never let any criticism of them and their Anointed One go unanswered. They are out there within minutes of any criticism firing back, mostly attacking the person (and a nod to you, Saul Alinsky) and not the policy or issue. The Clintons are experts at this. They have their goons out there ready to club into a pulp anyone who challenges them. Trump seems to be at least not taking it lying down. I think that is a good thing for our side to learn.

Ohhh he had so much ‘character’ he couldn’t wait to turn this beautiful nation over to illegals.....
....’doing the job Americans ( those he swore to protect and defend) won’t do’

If that’s character, I have a nice piece of Florida swampland to sell you!

If Trump quit tomorrow (as most of the political class wishfully think he will) he has already done this country a great service by laying bare the corrupt beltway-media omerta. He is a leader and anyone can talk Shiite about whatever, but you can’t change facts!

Lots of self righteous indignation going on hereabouts. Way too many high horses. I understand perfectly that vengeance can come back to bite but, frankly, I don’t care. If Trump will do 10% of what he claims it will be a major blessing. The GOPe does not deserve the support of FReepers. I say, “Damn the torpedoes.”
