Tuesday in Boone, IA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said on immigration he differs from his opponent Donald Trump because he explained Trump advocated allowing those deported to come back. Transcript of YouTube video uploaded by Lisa Angelos as follows: QUESTIONER: Both you and Donald Trump are really strong on immigration, but he supports deporting all the illegal immigrants. Are you willing to say the same? CRUZ: Absolutely, yes. We should enforce the law. QUESTIONER: All? CRUZ: We should enforce the law. QUESTIONER: OK. CRUZ: And in fact, look, thereâs a difference. Heâs advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that. QUESTIONER: So no citizens and all of them? CRUZ: So, if you read I have a very very detailed 11-page immigration proposal thatâs on my website itâs TedCruz.org. And It was designed with Rep. Steve King were the two who sat down with me to prepare it and it is enforce the law across the board.

Rather spot on that.
Yes.
We'll jes' have to do it without ye, then!
Well, for what it is worth, I am for no illegals ever coming back.
What Cruz has said here is the closest thing to this that I have heard from anyone,Trump included, in a long time.
Yes, Cruz has come to the party late, and maybe it is a political stunt, but it was nice to hear.
I like Trump, I like Cruz, but this is the toughest stance put out there yet.
Been leaning Cruz, but I’ll make you my mind by the SEC primary.
More will come out, good and bad, about both.
If the SEC primary were today, I’d give Cruz a shot and primary him out in 4 years if he doesn’t live up to it.
Re:”The question is, can anyone believe a word Cruz says concerning immigration? “
The question that lingers is if anyone can believe ANYTHING Trump says. And the answer is: “YES” if one employs the willful suspension of disbelief.
He supports single payer healthcare, that’s fine if you have his money, otherwise you are screwed. But you are fine with that.
He is hailed as the greatest businessman by those willing to overlook the fact that he was born with the silver spoon in his mouth and ran several of his ventures into the ground before declaring bankruptcy victimizing those whom he never paid back. But he is your hero.
He saw “thousands and thousands” celebrating in NJ after 9/11. But no one can corroborate those numbers. He just makes this s*** up as he goes along.
The sad thing is that there are people professing to be conservative with their head so far up their ass following him that that he would make the Pied Piper jealous.
He has become what Obama was in 2008: a blank slate for the weak-minded narcissists to fill in and make their very own.
Sorry, but I ain’t that gullible.
Re:”Nice that Trump blew up the politically forbidden mention of deportation by wrangling it into acceptable discussion. Now Cruz can bravely claim he will raise him a notch. Where was he on deporting prior to Trump taking all the âincomingâ heat?”
“Well, since you asked here is a video of Cruz back in the summer of 2011 when he was running in the senate primary:

“We’ll jes’ have to do it without ye, then!”
Wooooo. ok.
Frankly you guys turn off far more people than you know on this side of the aisle with the snobbery. Cruz really isnt exciting any of the independents as far as anyone can see, and damn sure isn’t going to peel the left from another “first” candidate opportunity.
Give Cruz 4 months of relentless attacks from the left’s media machine, with only no-nane conservative blogs on his side, and by September FR will be nothing but people cursing how America is “lost”, and doesn’t deserve Cruz’s brilliance.
False analogies abound LOL!
Cruz is only deporting them when they come into trouble with the law.
Those lawbreakers wouldn’t qualify for return under Trump either.
6 from one, half a dozen from the other... and people argue LOL!
The second million would get the same offer, but only $500. Then keep cranking the incentives down for the 3rd, 4th and 5th million.
What you want is an orderly stampede to leave rather than play the legal process lottery to stay. By the time the cheap labor and LaRaza lobbies try to block the program by legal maneuvering, a significant number of them have already exited. $3 to $4 billion spent on encouraging speedy exits would be saved many times over in dragging the process out.
Think you need to consider that Cruz may be saying they can’t come back UNLESS the law is changed. Might he sign a law to allow deportees to come back legally? He loves legal immigration.
Might Cruz or even Trump sign a law to change that. We know Cruz history. We do not know Trumps as well.
Nonsense.
Trump wants to expedite the non criminals back after deportations for a legalization amnesty. He says this over and over again. Trump says that once they are legalized, that he doesn't know if they will become citizens later.
Cruz says that he will enforce all immigration laws through deportations and removals. Cruz says that he is not for a legalization amnesty nor a citizenship amnesty.
And the answer is no, at least for the even marginally observant since various candidates announced for the presidency.
And Cruz is no better on one-sided foreign trade deals than he is on immigration.
Take your childish little insults and shove them where the sun don't shine.
So, your wise ass comment shouldn't generate another one in response, huh?
And you call such an exchange "snobbery"?
Look, sir, I am not among those who have taken shots at your guy. While I clearly favor Cruz, I have stated on numerous occasions that, if Trump is the nominee, I will be happy to support him. In the meantime, I've done nothing to demean or degrade him...or his supporters.
And I might add that I'm getting damn tired of the vicious insults that some Trump supporters have aimed at Cruz and his supporters. You're not the only one with a legitimate bitch.
So, if you insist on being unpleasant, go find somebody else to insult.
But, first, let me repeat:
And I would hope you take it more good-naturedly -- in the vein in which it was meant.
Congress would have to go along to change the deportation rules on coming back to the US. It would be on them too.
Cruz is only half right. Trump said he would allow them to come back through the legal process and getting in line with all requesting immigration.
